Welcome! We meet on the 3rd Wednesday each month, at the Lee Center, 1108 Jefferson St. in Alexandria, VA. It s just off US 1 inside the Beltway, with plenty of free parking. Meetings are held in the Gold Room. Check the lobby bulletin board just to be sure. The bourse opens at 7:00 p.m. and members may display, trade, and sell coins during this time. Our auction starts about 8:10 p.m. Members and visitors can bid during the bourse and auction. Members are encouraged to submit coins to be included in future auctions contact Auction Chair Robin Borum. Y N C O R N E R Ahhhh. Summer Seminar It s that time of year again Yep, time to start thinking about what you re going to do this summer. Two young ACC members, Brandon Tangarra and Pete Locke, spent a week last year at the ANA Summer Seminar. Pete also participated in the 2009 session. ANA paparazzi working the annual seminars managed to get a picture of each YN into two separate issues of The Numismatist. Brandon was featured in the recent February, 2011 issue, and Pete was included in the December 2009 publication. Have you thought about a week in Colorado Springs this summer? Take a good look at the brochure on the ANA website. Besides seeing the cool picture of Brandon and the microscope, you ll get to read up on all of the incredible learning opportunities available to young and young-at-heart numismatists. The topics range from introductory grading to detecting counterfeits, and from ancients to coins and currency of the modern world. Presenters like Dr. Richard Doty, Numismatic Curator of the Smithsonian, ensure that each course delivers high value content. Barbecues, outings and mini side trips also keep the experience memorable. And who knows? Perhaps another ACC member like you will grace the pages of a future issue of Yhe Numismatist.

January Meeting Highlights Club President Boots Barnes reported on 2011 ACC Show results, and announced that we would host another show next year, on 2/11/2012. Because of space limitations, a larger venue will need to be considered. Wayne Wilcox circulated his bank note from Mitchell, SD Wayne s home town! Jason Zeibel displayed his grandfather s Mercury Dime collection, including a 1916D, of which only 264,000 were minted. We welcomed new members: Charlie Davis, Tom Savane, and Scott MacCannell.
