2 SECTION (a) It i maller in diameter and more flexible than JKT or S, and the platic jacket ha improved frictional propertie permitting placement ithout the aid of lubricant. (b) It can be ued for indoor or outdoor run and may be terminated on any terminal hich ill accommodate 22 or 24 A W conductor. Do not ue D tation ire to pan, eg, beteen building. (c) The inulation of the individual conductor i ditinctively colored to provide identification. Refer to Table B for color code. (d) Wire run hould be limited to 25 feet for intallation involving to talking circuit. Single-line intallation length i determined by any ignaling equipment ued, or by dial- and night-light loading. See Section for lamp loading information. 3.3 (MD) Station Wire conit of three pair of 24 A W annealed copper conductor; each conductor ha color-coded inulation (ee Table C). The three tited pair are tranded together and jacketed ith light olive gray colored polyvinyl chloride platic (PVC) underlaid by a nylon jacket-litting cord. The (MD) tation ire i ued primarily for preiring houe during contruction. 3.4 H Station Wire replace (MD) tation ire. It i intended for preiring of ingle or multifamily reidence during contruction and for general ue in tation iring. In mot conduit or duct application, the ire can be pulled ithout lubricant. It ha three tited pair of PVC inulated 24 A W copper conductor. Each conductor i ditinctively colored (ee Table C). The pair have a different length of tit and are grouped together and jacketed ith ivory colored PVC underlaid by a nylon jacket-litting cord. 3.5 The jacket and inulation of H tation ire ill ithtand the tre of intallation don to a temperature of -1F, and the jacket ill reit deterioration of outdoor expoure to unlight. 3.6 Length of run of (MD) and H tation ire i determined by any ignaling equipment ued, or by dial- and night-light loading. See Section for lamp loading information. 3.7 B Station Wire (adheive-backed ire) i intended for ue in area here it i impoible or impractical to ue D tation ire and tandard fatener due to contruction of building or building oner retriction. All adheive-backed ire hould be ued ith the folloing precaution: Intallation are much more expenive than conventional B tation ire intallation and hould be ued only here abolutely neceary Mounting urface mut be clean in order to obtain atifactory adheion Solvent-activated primer improve adheion to lightly oiled urface but increae the cot of intallation Never mount on damp urface, ra plater, or a coare urface uch a cinder block or untreated concrete Wire run hould be limited to 1 feet for any ingle-line intallation and 6 feet for intallation involving to talking circuit. 3.8 KS-7144 Flat Cordage i ued for tation iring under rug on ubcriber premie. (a) Inulation of individual conductor i colored red, green, yello, and black for identification. (b) Wire run hould be limited to 1 feet for any ingle-line intallation and 6 feet for intallation involving to talking circuit. 3.9 KS 2284Ll i a highly fire reitant tation ire intended for ue in air return plenum. It hould not otherie be ued a general purpoe tation ire. It conit of four No. 22 A W conductor, individually inulated and colored red, green, yello, and black for identification. Caution: KS 2284Ll tation ire mut not be tapled due to jacket and inulation characteritic. 3.1 SK Station Wire i a hielded tited pair ire. (a) It i ued here trouble i experienced ith impule noie beteen de metallic teletyperiter loop and DATAPHONE line in the ame run. 3 ISS 7, SECTION (b) It i ued in loudpeaker ytem a amplifier output lead and aociated iring. (c) Inulation of individual conductor i colored blue and hite round Wire i a ingle-conductor inulated ire. (a) No. 6 ground ire i ued to make ground connection to protected cable, cable terminal, protector mounting, and to group of tation protector. (b) No. 1 and 12 ground ire are ued to make ground connection primarily in tation iring E Block Wire i ued on block ditribution and in ring run on building. It may alo be ued inide factorie, freezing room, or for hort run in home. It i available in one- and to-pair ize. (a) It may be ued in pan not exceeding 35 feet in length. (b) The inner layer of inulation on the individual conductor i ditinctly colored to eae identification. Refer to Table D. (c) Wire run hould be limited to 25 feet for intallation involving to talking circuit (to-pair ize). Single-line intallation length i determined by any ignaling equipment ued, or by dial- and night-light loading. See Section for lamp loading information F Cro-Connecting Wire i ued for all indoor cro-connection application beteen incoming cable and tation equipment. (Not for ue in central office.) It may be ued for pedetal and aerial Serving Area Interface (SAI). (a) Conductor identification i etablihed through ue of colored inulation in combination ith ingle dahe of colored ink. Refer to Table E. (b) The inulation ill ithtand the tre of intallation don to a temperature of -1"F. 4. INSIDE WIRIN CAE 4.1 Type, ize, gauge, and ue are found in Table F. 4.2 D Inide Wiring Cable i for general ue in cutomer telephone ytem iring. The platic jacket ha improved frictional propertie, permitting placement ithout the aid of lubricant. Lubricant could eventually corrode and clog conduit, making it more difficult to place additional ire. (a) All pair in the 4 and 6-pair ize are laid parallel to one another. (b) All pair in the 12 to 25-pair ize are made ith a tranding lay; individually paired and tited. (c) The 5- to 1-pair i compoed of 2 to 4 unit of 25 pair each. The unit are tranded together to form the core. Each unit ha a different color binder for unit identification. Refer to Table. (d) The colored inulation in combination ith ingle dahe of colored ink provide individual conductor identification. (e) Length of run i determined by any ignaling equipment ued, or by dial- and night-light loading. See Section for lamp loading information. 4.3 tthe KS-2284L2 through L7 i a highly fire reitant plenum cable that i U.L. approved for ue in air return plenum ithout conduit per the National Electrical Code. It hould not otherie be ued a general purpoe tation cable. (a) The cable i available in ix ize (ee Table F) ith all pair tranded into a cable form. (b) Cable pair are identified ith olid color only, hoever, each pair ha a unique color combination for identification (ee Table H). Page 3
