The measuring range reaches from 0.0 to 500 µs/cm. Sensors with Pt 100 or Pt 1000 temperature sensor are used together with transmitters with automatic temperature compensation. 2 MYCOM S CLM 153 ENDRESS+HAUSER MEAS DIAG CAL PARAM Function and system design Measuring principle Conductive conductivity measurement The conductivity of liquids is measured with a measuring system that has two coaxially arranged electrodes similar to a capacitor. The electric resistance or its reciprocal value, the conductance G, is measured according to Ohm s law. The specific conductivity K is determined using the cell constant k that is dependent on the sensor geometry. These allow high flow rates and high accuracy Temperature compensation In addition, a Pt 100 or Pt 1000 temperature sensor is installed inside the electrode to measure the process temperature. Easy connection The connector versions are connected via a water-proof plug-in system (TOP 68). The fixed cable versions are ready for operation and do not need any further cable connection. Durable and sterilizable The sensor is pressure-proof up to 180 psi (1 bar) at 68 F (0 C) and can be applied with temperatures of up to 8 F (10 C) at 9 psi (6.5 bar). It is sterilizable up to 30 F (150 C) for 30 minutes at 7.5 psi (5 bar). Measuring cables Installation Installation instructions The sensors are mounted directly via the process connection. When installing the sensor in pipes, note the flow direction of the process (see figure below). When installing the sensor, the measuring surfaces must be completely wetted by the process during operation. When working in ultrapure water, ingress of air must be avoided since dissolved air, particularly CO, may increase the conductiivity by up to 3 µs/cm. Send sensor to sales center for factory fitted new seals and recalibration (see Accessories). To ensure accurate measurement, clean the sensor regularly: Use appropriate cleaning solutions (e.g. Isopropanol) to remove light soiling and coatings of the sensor parts in contact with process fluid After cleaning sensor, rinse with distilled or ultrapure water. Remnants of cleaning solutions might distort measurement.
