1 Poduct Desciption The Bose zone amplifie is designed to povide basic amplification and sound system expansion when using font-end Bose poducts such as FeeSpace integated zone amplifies and ContolSpace engineeed sound pocessos. With the inclusion of AmpLink, up to 8 digital audio channels can be sent to the amp fom a Bose DSP via a shielded CAT 5 cable. AmpLink tanspots up to 8 uncompessed, nea zeo latency, digital audio channels between Bose DSPs and the ZA 2120-HZA via shielded CAT 5 cable. The amp also suppots a THRU path fo daisy-chaining digital audio to othe Bose AmpLink poducts at a distance of up to 10 m between poducts. Dual Remotes suppot optional volume adjustment fo -independent, o combined, zone contol which eliminates the need fo bulky, -inefficient, and sound-alteing 70/100V in-line volume contols. Expansion-eady connectivity with FeeSpace IZA amplifies and ContolSpace engineeed sound pocessos when additional souces and loudspeake pocessing is equied. Intuitive featue setup enables the amplifie to be configued without a PC fo emote, input, output and automatic standby options. Auto-Standby featue allows the amplifie to consume less powe when not in use. Remote muting allows the amplifie to be muted via a centalized contol system. The amp also suppots a THRU path fo daisy-chaining the 8 digital audio channels to othe Bose AmpLink poducts. CAUTION: Shielded EIA/TIA 568B staight CAT 5 cable, o equivalent, is equied fo pope AmpLink opeation. Unshielded cable is not suppoted and may cause AmpLink to opeate impopely. Do NOT connect eithe RJ-45 pot to an Ethenet-based netwok. AMPLINK ERR LED Solid yellow indicates muted audio fom the mute connecto. Blinking yellow indicates an eo, which will also mute the audio. AMPLINK LNK LED Solid geen indicates nomal opeation. INPUT SELECT Switch selects if analog o two consecutive AmpLink audio inputs ae used. Choose fom AmpLink channels 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, o 7-8. The default state is analog. ANALOG INPUT Balanced and unbalanced line-level input connectos. AUTO STANDBY If enabled (ON) the amplifie will go into standby mode afte twenty minutes without an input signal. If in standby mode and an audio signal is detected, the amplifie will automatically wake and amplify audio within 0.7 seconds. The OFF position disables the featue. INPUT The input can be set to eithe DUAL o SUMMED mode. REMOTE 1 CONTROL Sets the REMOTE 1 input to contol both outputs (o zones) simultaneously (ZONE 1+2), o allows each REMOTE input to contol its own output (ZONE 1). Each emote has independent A/B selection capability. If only one emote is being used, then this switch must be set to ZONE V/100V The output can be set to 70V o 100V. REMOTE RJ-45 input connecto fo the CC-1 ContolCente zone contolle, o the CV41 if connecting to two non-ganged CC-1s. If the two CC-1s ae ganged togethe, then the CV41 is not needed. 5 Achitects and Enginees Specifications The amplifie shall employ Class-D amplification topology. The amplifie shall incopoate a switch-mode powe supply allowing nomal opeation fom AC outlets anging fom V (±10%) at 50/60 Hz. The amplifie shall have an IEC 320-C14 electical powe inlet and shall be equipped with a emovable powe supply cod. A powe switch shall be located on the font panel. The poduct shall include potection fom shoted loads and geneal oveheating. The amplifie s physical size shall be 1 RU in height by 1 RU in width and be capable of ack mounting. The poduct shall have venting with a single fan, continuous left-to-ight aiflow. Each output channel shall have output tim contols. The amplifie shall have two output channels with a fequency esponse of 55 Hz to 20 khz (+0/ 3 db) and dive 70/100V distibuted audio systems. The amplifie shall have THD+N at ated powe less than o equal to 0.3%. Output connections shall be made via 2-pin touch-poof Euoblock connectos. The amplifie shall meet o exceed the following pefomance specifications: channel sepaation (cosstalk) less than o equal to 58 db below ated powe at 1 khz and dynamic ange of 88 db. The amplifie shall have 1 line-level input (RCA steeo o 5-pin Euoblock), one AmpLink digital audio input (RJ-45), one AmpLink digital audio thu connection (RJ-45), and 1 emote contol input (RJ-45). Safety and Regulatoy Compliance The FeeSpace ZA 2120-HZA zone amplifie complies with CE equiements and is UL listed accoding to UL60065 (8th edition) and CAN/CSA C22.2 No ; CB appoved, accoding to IEC60065 (8th edition), including goup and national diffeences.
