1 Instructions 1336 PLUS II Custom Firmware EN921 - Variable Voltage w/ PI Power/Current Control! ATTENTION: This Custom Firmware has been designed for a specific application and differs from the standard 1336 PLUS II product offering. It must be installed and run only under this custom application. Attempting to run this Custom Firmware under any other type of application or condition could result in unpredictable and/or hazardous conditions. Description Custom Firmware EN921 differs from the standard 1336 PLUS II version firmware as follows: Drive parameters have been added to allow the drive output voltage to be controlled independently of the commanded output frequency. All voltage parameters are accessed from the new Voltage Control parameter group following the Motor Control group. A new Voltage PI (proportional-integral) parameter group has been added to allow the dynamic adjustment of output voltage from a reference and feedback signal error calculation. All Process PI functionality (PI regulation of output frequency) available in the standard firmware has been removed in this custom firmware. Voltage Control This group of parameters are used to independently control drive output voltage. [Control Select] Selects the motor control method for the drive. The default setting provides full stator flux control that is suitable for most applications. [Minimum Voltage] This parameter sets the lowest voltage the drive will output when [Control Select] is set to Variable Voltage. [Maximum Voltage] This parameter sets the highest voltage the drive will output. Parameter Number 9 Sens Vector Economize 0 Stator Flux control with Economize Sens Vector 1 Stator Flux control Fixed Boost 2 V/Hz w/programmed accel/run boost Full Custom 3 V/Hz with full configuration Variable Voltage 4 Independent voltage/freq control (new selection) Parameter Number % of Drive Rated Voltage Parameter Number 20 Drive Rated Volts 120% of Drive Rated Voltage
2 2 EN921 - Variable Voltage w/ PI Power/Current Control Voltage Control [Volt Incr Time] This value determines the time it will take the drive to ramp from to [Maximum Voltage] when [Control Select] is set to Variable Voltage. The rate determined by this value and [Maximum Voltage] is linear. [Volt Decr Time] This value determines the time it will take the drive to ramp from [Maximum Voltage] to when [Control Select] is set to Variable Voltage. The rate determined by this value and [Maximum Voltage] is linear. [Voltage Command] This parameter displays the commanded voltage value from the reference specified by [Volt Select]. [Volt Select] This parameter specifies which input signal will be used as the [Volt Command] reference when [Control Select] is set to Variable Voltage. [Volt Preset] This parameter specifies the output voltage setpoint value when [Volt Select] is set to Volt Preset. [Volt Trim Select] This parameter specifies which input signal will be used to trim (increase/decrease) the [Volt Command] reference. Volt trim is only active when [Volt Trim%] is set to a non-zero value. 3 EN921 - Variable Voltage w/ PI Power/Current Control 3 Voltage Control [Volt Trim%] This parameter specifies the voltage trim percentage added/deducted from the [Voltage Command] reference. The value represents ±Volt Trim% of drive [Rated Voltage]. Minimum Input = Volt Trim% Value Mid-Point Input = No Trim Maximum Input = +Volt Trim% Value The volt trim signal can be inverted by entering a negative value. [Volt Command Ref] This parameter specifies the drive output voltage when [Volt Select] is set to Volt Cmd Ref. The parameter value is cleared at power-up and is not retained in EEPROM storage. This parameter can be be linked with a SCANport communications adapter via the [Data In xx] Adapter I/O parameters. It identifies the input point for the process feedback device. [PI Reference] This parameter displays the current value of the reference selected by [PI Ref Select]. 6 6 EN921 - Variable Voltage w/ PI Power/Current Control Voltage PI [PI Feedback] This parameter displays the current value of the reference selected by [PI Fdbk Select]. [PI Error] The value of the error calculated by the PI loop. This value is the difference between [PI Reference] & [PI Feedback] and determines the PI output. [PI Output] The current output of the PI loop is displayed with this parameter. This output is used as the reference for the voltage output. [KI Process] This parameter sets the integral gain of the process PI loop. [KP Process] This parameter sets the proportional gain of the process PI loop. [PI Neg Limit] This parameter sets the lower (negative) limit of the PI output. [PI Pos Limit] This parameter sets the upper (positive) limit of the PI output. [PI Preload] Sets the value used to preload the PI integrator when Set Output or Preload Int bits equal 1 in [PI Config]. 7 EN921 - Variable Voltage w/ PI Power/Current Control 7 Voltage PI [Pwr / Cur Ref Lo] Sets the percentage of power or current reference that represents the low end of the Range. [Pwr / Cur Ref Hi] Sets the percentage of power or current reference that represents the high end of the Range. Parameter Number % / 4096 = 100% 0.0% 300.0% % Parameter Number % / 4096 = 100% 100.0% 300.0% % [PWM Frequency] This parameter sets the carrier frequency for the sine coded PWM output waveform. This parameter cannot be changed while the drive is running. Refer to the Derating Guidelines in Appendix A. The following parameter(s) have been modified to provide special functionality required by the application (changes indicated in bold): Parameter Number 45 2 KHz / KHz/2 2 KHz 1 KHz A & B Frame Drives = 8 khz C Frame Drives & Up = 6 khz [VT Scaling] This parameter scales the drive for VT ampere ratings. Important: This parameter must be set to Disabled when drive is used in a fibers application. This parameter cannot be changed while the drive is running. [Load Loss Level] Sets the torque current level below which a load loss fault/ warning will occur. The value is expressed as a percentage of programmed [Motor NP Amps].
