7 MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) The Multifunctional Information Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio System (MIDS JTRS) terminal transforms MIDS into a 4-channel JTRS radio while maintaining: 4 Channel JTRS compliant radio 1 Channel for Link 16/J-Voice, plus TACAN 3 Programmable Channels Form, Fit, Function with MIDS-LVT Limited changes to platform/host required Link-16 Frequency Remap, Enhanced Throughput and Information Assurance (Crypto Modernization) Modification Ready The realization of Network Centric Operations Warfare is critical to providing decision superiority to our forces. 9 MIDS JTRS and Link 16 CMN-4 CMN-4 is a Link 16 enhancement to MIDS JTRS Allows Link 16 reception from any combination of 4 nets or participants simultaneously Form/fit/function replacement for MIDS-LVT or MIDS JTRS Core terminal CMN-4 allows for more efficient use of the Link-16 Network and additional network designs for additional participants Uses the Four Receiver/Synthesizers to receive the 1st-4th transmissions Concurrent Contention Receive (CCR) Link 16 CMN-4 Funded and in development for MIDS JTRS Concurrent Multi-Netting (CMN) Capability to receive on multiple net numbers (nets) simultaneously Concurrent Contention Receive (CCR) Capability to receive multiple transmissions in a single timeslot simultaneously MIDS JTRS CMN-4 provides for more efficient Link 16 network Slide 9
