MARINE TRANSFORMERS 3 MARINE POWER TRANSFORMERS Three phase marine transformers ET3SM are designed to supply the main circuits and to control lightening of vessels. ELHAND TRANSFORMATORY manufactures transformers in naval workmanship which can operate in all climatic zones. They are installed in steel casings of protection degree IP23. 4 ET3SM Three-phase marine transformers with the power range between 10 kva and 720 kva Technical Data: Design Transformers are manufactured in the maritime version W/3. They are manufactured as per EN A1 and in accordance with the GL, PRS, RMRS, RINA, BV, LR, DNV and ABS regulations, depending upon the requirements stipulated in a purchase order. 6 The samples of other solutions for ship industry The starting autotransformers of tubular rudders The starting autotransformers type EA3RM are used to start the engines of tubular rudders. Provided the starting autotransformer is used, the supply voltage during the starting process does not fall below a critical value, thus the operation of automatic devices is not disturbed. These autotransformers work with engines of power from a few to a few thousand of kw. Voltage level at the taps, the start-up time and all parameters determining work conditions of the machine are precisely discussed at the stage of designing. The starting method with the use of a starting autotransformer is used especially in big power engines, where the supply current during the start-up is a crucial parameter. In case of autotransformer the voltage can be freely lowered for the time of starting with appropriate choice of transmission gear, so that the supply current does not exceed preset value. While choosing transmission gears it must be monitored, if the moment of the engine with lowered voltage is higher that the anti-torque of a driven rudder. ET3oM transformers are designed to supply with safe 42/24 V voltage the selected workstations in shipyard docks. Transformers supply devices and electrical appliances used by repair brigades. Transformers ET3oM of the power of 15 KVA and 20 KVA are produced in naval workmanship in the first protection class. They meet the requirements of EN standard. The construction of the transformer, with enhanced mechanical damage resistance, has been adjusted to difficult shipyard conditions. Furthermore a tight casing with protection degree of IP54 protects the transformer against pollution and humidity.
