1 Laser Particle Sensor Module PM2006M Application Air purifier, air quality monitor Ventilation system, air conditioner with purifying function Auxiliary product of consumer electronic products Description PM2006M is one type of laser particle sensor module, which can measure indoor particle concentration PM2.5 exactly and output μg/m 3 directly via mathematical Table1 Cubic particle sensor module specification Particle size range 0.3 ~ 10 μm Measuring range 0 ~ 1000μg/m³ algorithm and scientific calibration. Working temperature -10 ~ +50 C Working principle Draw air into closed interior space and then take air sample in certain proportion. When sampling particles pass through light beam (laser), there will be light scattering phenomenon. Scattered light will be converted into electrical signal (pulse) via photoelectric transformer. The bigger particles will obtain stronger pulse signal (peak value). Through peak value and pulse value quantity concentration of particles in each size can be calculate. Thus, real-time measured data is obtained through measuring quantity and strength of scattered light. 2 Internal architecture description Picture 1. Internal configuration According to the above figure, the air flow sampling of the sensor is composed of a fan and a driving circuit. The light source part is composed of a laser tube and a driving circuit. The detection part is composed of a photosensitive tube and an amplifying circuit. The gas is sampled into the module through the fan, the laser beam is irradiated to the particles in the gas to produce scattered light, the phot osensitive tube converts the scattered light signal into the pulse electrical signal, the electric signal is filtered and the data is processed by the microprocessor, then output particle mess concentration.

No red rust on the sensor surface. Switch Test Powering on for 5 minutes in the normal temperature condition, then stop for 5 minutes. Repeat such test for 500 hours. 11 User attention It is for household electronics products. For application of medical, mining, disaster preparedness, which need high security and high dependence, this sensor is not suitable. Please do not use it in bad dusty environment.; Avoid using the sensor under situation with strong magnetic, such as situation close to stereo speaker, microwave oven, induction cooking. Because the metal shell of the sensor is connected with the DC ground of interior circuit board, it s dangerous to touch the sensor s DC ground. So please install the sensor somewhere human body cannot touch directly. Cut off the power before touching the sensor. There is no high pressure transient protection circuit of the sensor. The power supply of the sensor should be stable and low noise. Please refer to the working current in table 1 below. The sensor needs 5v power supply because the fan needs 5V power drive. But other data communication and control need 3.3V as a high level. In this case, the MCU which communicates with the sensor should be 3.3V. If the main MCU is 5V, an external conversion chip or circuit is needed for the communication port (RX and TX) and the control port (RET, RESET) to convert 5 V to 3.3 V. Please refer to table 2. When RC is used to reduce voltage, be cautious that the metal shell will be connected with either 220VAC live wire or the neutral wire. Live wire Load Neutral wire

12 If isolated switch power supply is adopted to obtain DC power, please control the capacitance between the DC ground and the AC ground below 2.2nF and withstand voltage reaches to 3KV. The sensor itself is safe to use, what you should be cautious is the safety of power supply and structure design on the sensor.
