1 Description The satellite receiver SE 56. is used for spare systems of the KARIN headend.it also can be used as an standard satelite receiver in the KARIN headend. There are two types of satellite receiver: - SAT receiver SE SAT receiver SE 562 (with sound processor) - SAT-receiver SE 563 (with stereo-sound processor) It selects and demodulates an FM modulated carrier frequency (PAL) in the first SAT IF range from 920 to 2050 MHz. All settings (Input frequency, polarity-switching, etc) can be made via the control software or by hardware-switches on the assembly. The satellite receiver SE 56. contains a tracking input bandpass for the suppression of the image frequency, a electronically switchable bandpass filter (27/32 MHz) in the 2nd SAT IF (479.5 MHz) and a PLL demodulator. The input frequency is selected internally by a PLL tuning system. The baseband processing includes the switchable de-emphasis network (PAL, LINEAR), a baseband attenuator with polarity-switching and the video low pass for the suppression of the sound carrier frequencies. In the sound processor (only in SE 562) a switchable non compressed sound carrier is demodulated and is fededin a deemphasis network. The oscillator frequency for the up-mixing to the standard IF of 10.7 MHz is processed in a synthesizer which is controlled by a crystal. The demodulation of the stereo-sound carrier takes place at 7.02 MHz for the left channel and 7.20 MHz for the right channel (SE 563). The stereo-sound processor is compartible to Wegener Panda Systems 1. For processing of other compressed sound signals the SAT receiver generates the baseband signal for the module subcarrier demodulator. At the front side there are the monitoring outputs for the 2nd SAT IF, the video/baseband signal (switchable) and the audio signal (at SE 562 and SE 563).
