2 CAMTREE 360 (R) RING LED LIGHT 2 I N T R O D U C T I O N Our CAMTREE 360 (R) Ring LED Light is designed to match the performance of today s modern cameras. Just as flexible and reliable as the camera itself, this lightweight performer provides illumination, enhanced contrast, accurate color balance, dimmable, battery operation, in an easy to set up and easier to use, fill light package. AC Adapter 8ft Cable 360 (R) Ring Light with foam packing Universal Adapter 12V Battery Pack with AC Charger D I M M E R : If you need to reduce the light still further, and increase creativity, your Cool-Lux AC Photo Dimmer allows you to vary the brightness of the lamp continuously from off to fully bright. As you decrease brightness, lamp life increase dramatically and color temperature decrease slightly. A handy scale on the Photo Dimmer shows the variations in lamp life and color temperature for different brightness settings. M Y T H S A B O U T L O W L U X : When you begin making video movies, you soon realize that with today s fast lenses and sensitive cameras, you can easily record images of most indoor subjects using only prevailing ( existing ) light. But, you also will notice that these pictures are lacking in quality. Human subjects and skin tones are particularly poorly depicted. Existing light seldom comes from a source facing the subject and thereby produces shadows in the wrong places. And the major flaw existing light almost never is the correct color temperature for accurately recording skin tones.

3 CAMTREE 360 (R) RING LED LIGHT 3 Low-light sensitivity of a video camera is determined by lens speed and the sensitivity of the tube or CCD that captures the image behind the lens. Current practice is to rate cameras in terms of the lowest light level ( measured in Lux ) in which the camera can record images. Today s most sensitive video cameras can record with light-levels of 7 to 10 Lux, using lenses with f/1.4 or faster apertures. Video cameras must be adjusted for the color temperatures of the light source (day light or tungsten) and for white balance. Some cameras automatically make one or both of these adjustments, other must be adjusted manually. To record images at low-light levels, Low-Lux cameras operate with the lens automatic diaphragm with open, which reduces depth-of-field to almost nothing. Object at one distance only will be sharply focused, and nearer or farther objects will be out-of focus. In addition, there will be very little contrast, and the white balance adjustments on the camera may not be able to provide a true white balance. The cameras electronic circuitry will not be operating in the most efficient part of its range. All in-all, pushing any low-lux video camera to its limits results in unappealing images that are invariably soft in focus and off color. By merely adding fill light from the camera position, the same subjects are immediately enhanced with more pleasing lighting on faces and far better color in skin tones. Also improved are depth of sharpness, contrast, and three-dimensionality of the subject. THE MERE FACT THAT THE LIGHT IS ON, ALSO MAKES SUBJECTS MORE AWARE OF THE CAMERA - THUS, MORE ACTIVE AND MORE ATTENTIVE TO THE DIRECTIONS OF THE CAMERA OPERATOR. Professional videographers and photographers know the value of adequate light for top quality images, so they use supplementary lighting for every situation. It is no secret that adequate light produces far better pictures, but video camera manufacturers have adopted light sensitivity (expressed in Lux ) as a competitive number for advertising and promotion (like the 0 to 60 time was for automobiles). They often claim their cameras can record good images any where without supplemental lighting. This simply is not so! A s s e m b l i n g y o u r ( R ) R I N G L E D L I G H T The base of your 360(R) frame has a ¼ tripod mounting slots shown below. Extend the tripod mounting screw through the slot in preparation for mounting your camera.

4 CAMTREE 360 (R) RING LED LIGHT 4 Using the threaded bolt, attach the camera through the mounting plate. Attach the LED light ring to the frame using the built-in knobs and secure. Position the light ring over the lens by releasing the lock control and sliding the complete assembly in position. Tighten the control knob to secure the assembly. For Mechanical products we provide a 6 month warranty & for electronic products we provide a 3 month warranty from the date of purchase. We will repair or replace your product, free of charge, in the event of a defect in materials or craftsmanship obtained during normal use or handling based on the user manual. Please note that we will not cover any shipping costs for returning the product to us. If any VAT or import duties are applied to the return, we will also charge these costs to the customer. The warranty does not include, by the way of example, damage caused by products that we do not supply or from mishandling in transit, accident, misuse, neglect, lack of care of the product, or service by anyone other than our company. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages resulting from the use of the unit or occurring due to any breach of this warranty. Replacement parts of the product will be provided at nominal cost (covering the cost price of the replacement parts only) to the customers after the Warranty Period has expired. We will cover the complete cost of sending replacement parts within the warranty period. After that, Nominal cost of the product & Actual shipping cost will be charged.
