2 It is important to give back the evolution in place of the virtualization process, of which we are author and victim at the same time. Real reality is decaying, paper and ink are dissolving. How digital data reach people in the virtual reality? The scanner is the door.in virtual reality we can save the mass of the information, otherwise we will forget them. I create images and videos. Is it possible to forget? Collecting for me is a disremembering form. I want to survive

3 BURIED ALIVE Video Installation. Video realized by scanned images taken from the books preserved in the public library of Favara. The books hoarded in public and private libraries are the dead body of a still living language. Information sharing takes place through technological devices that are made of hardware and software, screens and pixels. Images and videos give back a faster representation of reality. In Buried Alive, the artist realize a work of hybridization between mediums, taking into account the potential of new media, without to forget the power of the images that the words create. The right tool for this hybridization practice is the scanner. Motion pictures reproduce the aesthetics of the digitalization process.

8 WHERE IS THE VALUE? Video realized with scanned immages of marble waste materials of Verbania s cave the video investigates the aesthetic differences between valuable and not valuable goods. Offer and demand law shapes the aesthetic forms of goods. In the market the selling goods takes the specific form indicating here it is the value. I m interesting, instead in showing the aesthetic form of not valuable goods, for example the marble waste materials, and using them in order to give back a new idea of valuable good, out of capitalistic market law.

12 IMAGE EVERY THING Site specific video-installation. The video is realized by using scanned images of the room s frescos Displayed at the contemporary meuseum of Alcamo.

14 IMAGE EVERY THING For the site-specific installation Image Every Thing I used different techniques. After I have seen the space, I have been fascinated by the eighteenth-century frescos of Domenico La Bruna inside the Collegio dei Gesuiti ex oratory, part of the contemporary museum of Alcamo. I started to collect different pictures of the frescos taken from the books preserved in city library and scan them, in order to create a digital archive. After the scanning process, the original images were disappeared; only few and marginal elements of the frescos were still recognizable. Furthermore, I produced a video using just two scanned images, and edited it to give back the scrolling scanning process. In the space I decided to display it on one of the corners of the room, just under the two frescos reproduced in the video.

15 OPPORTUNITIES THAT VIRTUALITY GIVES VIDEO What is the relation between real and virtual landscape? Virtuality gives back an immersive experience of reality. In doing this the understanding of the reality is changed. The experience of real life is out of joint. Virtuality provides intense connections among people diminishing the physical distance. The informations are exchanged in a faster and easier way. Obviously we feel exhausted and saturated, we are passing through a new world. to watch the video ---->

18 INFORMAZIONE DIGITALE Informazione Digitale is a multimedia work, composed by two images and a video. The principal part of the work is the video. It shows the destruction or decay process of the glitch image in a not foreseeable one. My idea is to offer a metaphor that represents the decay process of the reality. In doing this I used manipulation techniques of the digital data, trying to develop an approach to the substance, even if it is made by bytes, pixels or codes.
