Events Danielle O Connor Akiyama explores the world within. This spring we are hugely proud that one of the most distinguished artists in our portfolio will be touring with Clarendon Fine Art. Danielle herself draws on her deep sense of spirituality, and this is what ignites her creative spark again and again. She has described her eloquent new collection as representing the quest of delving deeply into one s self to mine the purest part of our inner world. For her, the act of painting is inextricably linked to both her own inner life and that of others. She goes on: It is from this understanding that all other relationships stem. When we find this true connection, then we are able to love and be loved. When an artist is this connected with their work, the impact it makes on others is inevitable, and this is evidenced by the passion of Danielle s countless collectors. We are privileged to welcome her into our galleries in February, and delighted that she will also reveal a beautiful new collector s piece, limited to an edition of 75, which she has created exclusively for guests at this event. Click here to find out more and request an invitation. February events continued 07
February Sherree Valentine-Daines 2017 looks set to be a year to remember for Sherree if 2016 was anything to go by, and we are thrilled that she is visiting Clarendon Fine Art, Cobham during her busy schedule. When she was commissioned by Champagne Bollinger and her painting was then used as the centrepiece of their summer campaign in association with Royal Ascot, it was concrete evidence of her unique social cachet in the art world. There was more to come however, and as the year drew to a close she revealed that the organisers of The Queen s 90th Birthday Celebration event in May 2016 commissioned a painting from her as a birthday gift for Her Majesty. Widely regarded as the UK s foremost society artist, Sherree was an inspired choice. The commissioned painting shows the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh in the setting of Windsor Home Park. After being invited to attend a private reception at Windsor Castle where the painting was presented to Her Majesty, Sherree said she was thrilled and honoured to receive this commission. She has exhibited at numerous museums and public galleries throughout the UK including the Tate Gallery, Barbican and the Lord s Museum and we look forward to welcoming her back to Clarendon Fine Art. 08

Events Toby Mulligan We are meaning-makers. We construct our own worlds, consciously or not. Toby Mulligan has an insatiable desire for communication though art and an intuitive, exploratory style which is very much in keeping with his personality. While he admires a wide range of artistic traditions, he has learned over the years not to be bound by them, but to paint how and what he likes. He is, he says, influenced by everything ; architecture, the spiralling forms of the universe, sound, DNA, geography, Matisse He dislikes what he sees as much of the angst and obscurity of contemporary art, believing rather that art is something that flows naturally as a positive response to the world. This is reflected in the breadth of his subject matter which ranges from figures and landscapes to still lives and abstracts. Toby s distinctive contemporary works have won him both critical and public acclaim. His work is in collections ranging from that of Mick Jagger s French chateau to the National Portrait Gallery, and his portfolio of portraits includes a personal commission from Roger Federer and an award winning and affectionate painting of his daughter which hangs in the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh. 12 March Todd White - white hot and super cool. After an unbelievable series of sell out shows and sensational personal appearances last autumn, the charismatic Texan is back in the UK with Clarendon Fine Art. Todd will be launching a show stopping collection of originals and limited editions which make a sizzling statement and look set to turn heads wherever they go. Todd is the artist of choice for the world s most high profile showbiz events including the GRAMMY Awards and the Warner Bros Wizard of Oz 70th anniversary celebration. The darling of the LA elite, he has an army of celebrity collectors from both sides of the Atlantic including P Diddy, Sharon Stone, Jimmy White, Catherine Zeta Jones, Vin Diesel, Sylvester Stallone, Hugh Hefner, Abbey Clancy and David Dunn. Never far from the media spotlight with coverage in national press and glossy magazines, and TV interviews including one with the legendary Larry King. His status as a household name in the USA was highlighted when his work was the subject of a set piece gag in CBS TV Series Beverly Hills Cop. Don t miss out on meeting a huge star of the international art world at Clarendon Fine Art, Marlow. Click here to find out more and request an invitation. 12

Events This spring we are delighted to welcome Duncan MacGregor to our Stow gallery for the first time. Duncan is one of the art world s great innovators. Internationally renowned as the UK s leading contemporary colourist, he has a unique personal vision which he shares with us through his vibrant narratives. The qualities that make Duncan great and separate him from other artists are his uniquely recognisable style and his sophisticated, avant garde technique. This technique is continually evolving and the quality of his work reflects his artistic commitment and personal integrity he is a true professional creating powerful artworks for the 21st century. While at first glance Duncan s dynamic paintings seem almost minimal, closer examination reveals previously unseen depths, hidden messages and a wealth of pattern and detail that has been ingeniously composed and woven into each vivid narrative. He says: While I try to convey the energy and vibrancy of a scene, I also strive to achieve a sense of calm; I like the idea of communicating aspects that might not at first be obvious: the more you look, the more you see. Click here to find out more and request an invitation. March events continued 15
March Anna Razumovskaya UK Tour With her classic figurative forms, Anna Razumovskaya magically captures the lyrical romanticism of renaissance portraiture, while creating art that is completely modern and original. Anna is inspired by the graceful elegance of the female form, at turns, classically alluring, demure and provocative. She allows her love of the exquisite free rein and draws together a whole range of influences and inspiration, from classical portraiture and classical music to contemporary fashion: the drape of luxuriant fabric and the construction of gowns over the graceful figures illuminates her appreciation of timeless haute couture design, and her beautiful models display an almost careless beauty and serene grace. With solo exhibitions in London, New York, Paris, Toronto, Amsterdam, Antwerp and Berlin and numerous works in private collections across the globe, she has become one of the most exciting and collectable artists on the contemporary scene. Born in Russia, Anna travelled around Europe for some years until settling in Canada which she now feels to be her true home. We are thrilled that she will be flying in to join us in the spring and urge you to come and meet her, and of course to view her stunning original paintings and editions in person. Click here to find out more and request an invitation. 16

New Releases Danielle O Connor Akiyama: Coming This January Each of Danielle s exquisite paintings is the result of an emotionally charged experience, spontaneous and free. She has been working with paint for so long that she understands exactly how it falls and reacts when it hits a canvas, giving life to the image she s creating. The shapes, the silhouettes, the lines and the linear contours of her paintings culminate in an expression of great emotional intensity. This intuition is something that has moved with her, as she has made the transition from watercolours to acrylics and oils. More recently, she has been combining traditional methods with impasto and using her own highly contemporary splattering technique. Yet her work has never lost the subtlety and nuances inherent in watercolour. Danielle has won numerous awards and accolades for her luminous floral and abstract masterpieces, which she describes as sanctuaries for the soul. She was recently invited to submit work to the Florence Biennale where she was previously honoured with the title of President s Choice. Todd White: Coming This February Todd may be known as the coolest artist on the planet, but his artwork is anything but! His show stopping limited editions make a sizzling statement which will turn heads wherever they go. His paintings captivate the viewer with a strong and intriguing narrative. They always invoke an intense response and demand repeated viewings. His subjects come from the everyday world, but his perspective is so unusual that he alters the way we perceive people and the roles we play around each other. He studies body language, using its nuances to capture the subtleties of human behaviour. Each character depicts the subtleties of what one shows and what one hides. An asymmetrical face tells of an asymmetrical life, of how life wears and how we wear life - what we choose to carry in our hands and on our faces - how we wear ourselves, what smoke and color we stand in. (American Boulevard Magazine). 18
Coming Soon April Shepherd: Coming This February April is an established British sculptor producing highly expressive works exploring movement and the natural world, and her sensitive yet unsentimental animal studies have won her considerable acclaim. Her enchanting new collection is inspired by her great love of animals, in this case of dogs, and each piece has been hand crafted to recreate the appearance of the original smoke firing to stunning effect. Anna Razumovskaya: Coming This March Anna is Europe s most acclaimed romantic realist. Her passionate and dynamic application of paint on the canvas and her signature use of expressive colour combine to create a uniquely recognisable style. Anna s figures are rendered perfectly and naturally, and the use of extensive detail in the foreground is complemented by impressionistic backgrounds that serve more fully to define the subject and evoke the atmosphere. John Waterhouse: Coming This March John Waterhouse describes himself as a student of light. When he begins to compose a landscape, this is the first element that he explores and it is from the way the light falls and reflects that each image begins to grow. His work takes him on an emotional journey into his imagination and beyond, and he invites the viewer to join him and make his vision their own. Colour is becoming increasingly important in John s work. 19
