1 Chevron Corner to Corner (almost) This pattern resembles the diagonal box stitch however, it is done in a Chevron pattern, and not diagonally. Once the foundation blocks are formed, the pattern stitches are worked up and down the sides of the foundation blocks, forming the Chevron pattern, making this a unique and different pattern. For this example, worsted weight yarn and an appropriate size hook were used. Any size yarn and appropriate size hook for that yarn will work for your project, it s up to you. A marker at the tail is optional, but helps to identify the bottom of the work. The result will always be a square! 1.) Chain 7, dc in the 4 th chain from hook and in each chain to end. 2.) Chain 3, rotate 1 st box to the right (clockwise) so the last dc is horizontal. 1

2 3.) Work 3dc around the post of the last dc of the 1 st block. 2 blocks 4.) Chain 3 and turn to opposite side, slip stitch to the chain 3 space to the left, chain 3, 3 dc in 2

13 16.) Chain 3, 3dc in same chain 3 space, slip stich to block at left. (16 blocks) Foundation blocks completed. 17.) The next pictures show the progression of the blocks as you change colors, working from the top center block down the left side and back up to the top, down the right side, and back up the right side, making 2 complete rows in the chevron pattern. 13

14 18.) These 2 pictures show the change of color and the blocks down on the right side and back up the right side. Note: always change color at this top center point. Fasten off after last slip stitch and join next color with a slip stitch in same chain 3 space. {*Chain 3, 3dc (working over the 2 tails) chain 3, 3dc around the horizontally- positioned post of the last dc (working over 2 tails a 2 nd time) in the block just made*slip stitch in the chain 3 space of the block on the left.* Repeat from * to * to end. Note: the end is always the point where there is no chain 3 loop at the left. Chain 3 and turn, slip stitch in the chain 3 space of last block made. Repeat making blocks in pattern to top}, and repeat from {to} for the other side. 14

15 19.) This picture shows both rows on the left side as well as the right side, a completed 2 row sequence. Note: Notice the blocks are done horizontally going down, and made vertically coming up and horizontally on the way down, and the only turning, is done at the end of each side row, by chaining 3, turning the work to the opposite side and working up the reverse side. After the 2 nd turn is made, all work is done on the same side from this point, to the end at the top center block. This 2 row sequence forms the remainder of the pattern. Continue in this manner until you have the desired size. 4 to 5, 6oz skeins of 15
