2 General Notions This tutorial is written in American Standard Terms. Construction - Smallest and biggest stocking has same proceed, instructions are the same for both. - The finished size will depend of the yarn weight used. - To make the stocking: crochet the hexagon, fold it in half and add an edge row, very simple! Sizes Smallest stocking: 2 x 3.5 in (5 x 9 cm) Biggest stocking: 2.4 x 4.7 in (6 x 12 cm) Gauge Gauge is not important for this project, try to use same weight of yarn for each row to obtain a proportional piece. 1

3 Yarn Weight The yarn weight refers to its thickness. Materials Smallest Stocking - Acrylic DK light weight yarn n 3, small amount of red, white, gold and green - Steel 1.55 mm crochet hook (common for lace) - Tapestry needle - Scissors Biggest Stocking - Acrylic DK light weight yarn n 3, small amount of red, white, gold and green - Size 3.25 mm crochet hook. - Tapestry needle - Scissors 2

4 Stitches, symbols and abbreviations (RS) right side slip stich (sl st) chain (ch) single crochet (sc) double crochet (dc) Stitches Diagram 3

5 Text Instructions Begin making a slip ring with red. Rnd 1(RS): 3 ch, 2 dc, 1 ch into ring, [3 dc, 1 ch ] repeat 3 more times, join with sl st. Break yarn. Rnd 2: With green insert hook, 3 ch, 2 dc, 1 ch, 3 dc in same space, [3 dc, 1 ch, 3 dc into next chain space] repeat 3 more times, join with sl st. Break yarn. Rnd 3: With white begin into last sl st from round before: 3 ch, 2 dc; 3 dc, 1 ch, 3 dc into next chain space; [3 dc into next chain space, 3 dc, 1 ch, 3 dc into next chain space] repeat 4 more times, join with sl st. Break yarn. Rnd 4: With red begin into last sl st from round before: 3 ch, 2 dc; 3 dc into next chain space; 3 dc, 2 ch, 3 dc into next chain space; [3 dc into next space, 3 dc into next space, 3 dc, 2 ch, 3 dc into next chain space] repeat 4 more times, join with sl st. Break yarn. Weave in loose ends. How To 1) Begin with a slip ring and make 3 chains. 4

6 2) Complete first round. 3) Break yarn. 5

7 4) Introduce green yarn into any chain space from first round, ch 3. 5) Make 2 dc, 1 ch, 3 dc. 6

8 6) Crochet until second round is complete. 7) Break yarn. 7

9 8) Introduce white yarn into last sl st from the last round and make 3 chains. 9) Crochet 2 dc, and then 3 dc, 1 ch, 3 dc, into next chain space. 8

10 10) Complete third round. 11) Break yarn. 9

11 12) Introduce red yarn, crochet 3 chains. 13) Follow text instructions to complete last round. 10

12 14) Thread ends into the tapestry needle and weave in loose ends into wrong side. 15) This is how it looks wrong side once finished. 11

13 16) This is how it look the right side! 17) Fold in half right side looking up. 12

14 18) Pull the toe and accommodate the bootie to shape the ornament. 19) Insert hook into the tip. 13

15 20) Be sure you are holding both edges of the piece and make single crochet stitches. 21) Make single crochet stitches all across the edges. 14

16 22) Single crochet join both parts and give the finished look! 23) When you get to the heel make 3 sc there. 15

17 24) Turn corner and continue making sc stitches. 25) Once you reach the top

18 26) Work sc stitches into edges. 27) Once finished continue making 20 chains. 17

19 28) Fold in half the strip of chains, make a single crochet onto the corner, to join it with the bootie. 29) You have to obtain something like this! 18

20 30) Weave in loose ends. Both side are equal! 19
