EDELGRUND A PERSIAN TRADITION EDELGRUND s founders go back more than three generations in the trade and production of high-quality Persian carpets. Now with their collective experience, they push the limits to create a brand for today s market and future generations to come. EDELGRUND s knowledge of Persian culture, combined with the art of traditional weaving and knotting techniques, allows them to effectively play with colors and textures to create modern and timeless pieces that fit into any environment. Every single carpet is unique and represents its own characteristics and personality, and each has its own story to tell.
BEST MATERIAL EDELGRUND s experts scout the best, top-grade raw materials to ensure the highest of quality. Our design creations are made with 100% hand picked wool, produced with natural vegetable dyes and hand-spun yarn. EDELGRUND takes it a step further by adding high quality linens, a special hemp mixture, and other natural materials to create an array of color and feeling to the carpets. DESIGNERS Ali and Reza Lotfi s (brothers) knowledge of Persian culture, combined with the art of traditional weaving and knotting techniques, allows them to effectively play with colors and textures to create modern and timeless pieces that fit into any environment. Every single carpet is unique and represents its own characteristics, personality and unique story to tell.
COLLECTIONS: ROMINA COLLECTION Romina Collection is a double-sided kilim made in Bijar capital of Kurdistan Province in NW of Iran. The yarns are 100% handreased, double twisted and dyed with local vegetable dyes in Kurdistan. This exclusive kilim by EDELGRUND is made with very fine yarns however the weaving technique makes it possible to create a flatweave that is thicker than a typical Kilim. Romina is almost as thick as a fine pile carpet and in result eliminates the typical problems with kilims wrinkling, bunching up or flipping on the sides while laying perfectly flat on the ground! This collection is not only double sided but each side of the kilim has a unique design that looks completely different from the other. A double sided flat-weave with unique designs on each side that is thick enough to lay perfectly flat on the ground. That s our Romina! 100% High quality natural wool 100% Hand-spun and double twisted yarn 100% Natural local vegetable dyes 100% Hand Made
MANI COLLECTION Mani Collection is a double-sided kilim with simple design however made using a complex weaving technique exclusive to EDELGRUND. Mani is made in Bijar, Kurdistan Iran using 100% hand-reased, double twisted yarn and dyed with local vegetable dyes. This collection is double sided with each side representing the same simple design however with completely different colors without any trace of either color on the other side with the exception of the borders. This exclusive kilim by EDELGRUND is made with very fine yarns however the weaving technique makes it possible to create a flatweave that is thicker than a typical Kilim. Mani is almost as thick as a fine pile carpet eliminating the typical problems with kilims wrinkling, bunching up or flipping on the sides. 100% High quality natural wool 100% Hand-spun and double twisted yarn 100% Natural local vegetable dyes 100% Hand Made
ALASHT COLLECTION The Alasht Collection is weaved in the homes of the beautiful people of Alasht, a village on the north side of Iran in the mountainous Mazandaran province. In the past, these fabrics were mostly used for curtains, blankets, and as an underlay to dry curd and wheat. Today, EDELGRUND utilizes this aged technique of weaving with a twist, using 100% wool single-layer hand-spun yarn to create a dense and durable high quality fabric that can be used as floor covering. The designs are inspired by the old minimalist style but combine EDELGRUND s signature finishes, such as borders, to give this collection a special look and feel that you will not find elsewhere. The Alasht is weaved on special narrow looms and artfully sewed together to create the desired size. 100% High quality natural wool 100% Natural hand-spun single layer wool yarn 100% Natural local vegetable dyes 100% Hand Made

MASSAL COLLECTION The Massal Collection is created in the Gilan province of northern Iran and is named after a small village there. Massal is a blend of three different techniques of fabric weaving from three different areas in northern Iran (Kordi, Gilaki and Azeri Turki). The fabrics were and are still being used as blankets, blanket covering, and as heavy warm clothing for the Shepherds. They are weaved on special narrow looms in the homes of the weavers and sewed together to create the desired size. EDELGRUND successfully mixed these old weaving techniques and developed this special flatweave. In addition to mixing different weaving techniques, different color yarns are used in the weft and warp of the weave to create the subtle color effects you experience in the collection. This type of weave creates an effect that looks different from every angle. Usually, it s the design that makes the carpet special. In this case however, it s the various weaves and the colors used that make it truly stand out. 100% High quality natural wool 100% Natural hand-spun single layer wool yarn 100% Natural local vegetable dyes 100% Hand Made

KILIMU COLLECTION The Kilimu Collection is weaved and designed by the beautiful people of Qashqai tribes in Fars Province. Kilimu simply means Kilim in Turk Qashqai dialect. These beauties are made using the traditional Qashqai Kilim weaving technique with simple modern designs and vibrant colors. EDELGRUND leaves the design element of this particular collection to the creativity of the weaver so its always a surprise and spontaneous! 100% High quality natural wool 100% Natural double layer wool yarn, not spun 100% Natural local vegetable dyes 100% Hand Made

PATCHWORK These imperfect beauties are made with pieces of Kilims that were made in different areas, times and with various hands! Each one is one of a kind with its very own unique look, color and story to tell. Most of them are double sided!
ANTIQUE MAZANDARAN COLLECTION Every single kilim was collected piece by piece, village by village and home by home over the years by EDELGRUND designers. These antique Mazandaran kilims were and still are the inspiration for our Alasht Collection in combination with other weaving techniques, designs and colors.

KILIM GABEH COLLECTION Our limited edition "Kilim - Gabeh Collection" is a simple inspiration from Khorjins (saddle-bags) that are used on mules and horses by nomads. Their vibrant colors make them perfect accent pieces for any room. Each piece is unique in design and sizes range between cm long and 120cm wide.
