3 Introduction May, 27 th and 28 th 2017, The association St-Martial s anime organize for the first time at St-Martialsur-Isop an exhibition on the subject of wool. This exhibition's goal is to highlight the sector of wool's production and transformation. It would also promote needleworks. Why should we do an exhibition on the subject of wool? Since few years, handmade became more and more trendy. With creation of social networks, the DIY (Do it Yourself) and others tutorials increase on Internet. There is a real enthusiasm for handmade, that we can feel the effects on needle work. Knit and crochet are not anymore reserved to old people, but are a real hobby which shows a new state of mind. Homemade counts more and more members. It has become an alternative to the made in China with an attractive price-quality ratio. More, our beautiful Limousin is known for its ovine race's production and its wool's craft. By the way, there is a lot of associations in the wool's craft and needleworks. So, our exhibition «Au fil de la laine» would permit to promote an entire sector. From farmers, to wool craftpersons, to the associations, an entire economy which will benefit of this event. Proceeding of the exhibition : Educative exhibition : Outside, children could see some sheeps. Inside, some infographics would explain the production process of the wool. We would zoom in on local farmers' work, and the wool's transformation from the sheep to the ball. Activities : Inside the village hall, we could propose you some activities all troughout the two days. Hours and activities stay to define, according to availability from craftspersons. Spinning demonstration, introduction to knit, make crochet or pom pom could be proposed. Catering : To finish, our volunteers would manage a fast food stand (with salty and sweet cakes) and a refreshment stall. St-Martial-sur-Isop is gonna take colors! Parallel to the educative exhibition, the association St-Martial-s anime organize a Yarn Bombing. This term indicates an art form which consists to decorate streets with wool. The volunteers would ornement St-Martial-sur-Isop with knit, crochet, pompoms, etc... We also invite residents to decorate their own house. For the occasion, we invite you to participate in the decorations. We propose you an introduction to knit or crochet from october As well, some knit and tea would be organized at residents' home. Those intergenerationals meetings will permit to introduce ourself to needlework, to meet new people, and to share a good time together. We also invite the associations around to participate. To thanks them, we could make an article on our website about activities of those associations. 2

9 Mushrooms (crochet) : Level : confirmed level 10 to do. No matter what color. Attention : this is an american pattern. Single crochet = double crochet in uk. The Stem: Round 1: using the adjustable ring method and WHITE yarn make 6 single crochet (sc) = 6 sc Round 2: increase 1 sc in each sc. =12 sc Round 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from *. = 18 sc Round 4: 1 sc in each sc. = 18 sc Round 5: 1 sc in each sc. = 18 sc Round 6: *1 sc, sc next 2 sc together (1 dec), repeat from*. = 12 sc Round 7: 1 sc in each sc. = 12 sc 15/9/2016 Round 8: 1 sc in each sc. = 12 sc Round 9: 1 sc in each sc. = 12 sc Round 10: 2 sc, 1 dec, 4 sc, 1 dec, 2 sc. = 10 sc. Round 11: 1 sc in each sc. = 10 sc Round 12: *3 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from *, ending with 2 sc in last sc. = 25 sc Round 13: 1 sc in each sc. = 25 sc Round 14: *2 sc in next sc, 4 sc, repeat from *. = 30 sc Round 15: 1 sc in each sc, join red in last sc. Round 16: *2 sc in next sc, 4 sc, repeat from *. = 36 sc slip stitch into next sc. Fasten off. Stuff the stem. The Cap: Round 1: using the adjustable ring method and RED yarn make 6 single crochet (sc) = 6 sc Round 2: increase 1 sc in each sc. =12 sc Round 3: *1 sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from *. = 18 sc Round 4: *1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat from *. = 27 sc Round 5: 1 sc in each sc. = 27 sc Round 6: *2 sc in next sc, sc 2, repeat from *. = 36 sc Round 7: *2 sc in next sc, sc 2, repeat from *. = 48 sc Round 8: 1 sc in each sc. = 48 sc Round 9: *sc 5, dec 1, repeat from *, ending with 6 sc. = 42 sc fasten off. Assemble the Mushroom : Sew in ends. Working from the underside of the cap, sew the two pieces together with red yarn. Because the pieces have different numbers of stitches, you will need to adjust your stitching to compensate. Do this by picking up more of the cap in each stitch you make. The slight size difference helps insure that the top of the stem stays under the cap. Stuff the cap as firmly as desired, however, too much stuffing will distort the shape. Using white yarn, sew spots on the mushroom using french knots, single straight stitches, or even cross stitches. Sew in all the ends. Finally, attach a ribbon or cord to the top of the mushroom. Finished! 8
