Patch multiple bugs including automatic application distribution for reviewing, application completion status detection, user experience design changes, etc. Implement support for uploading receipts in PDF format. Implement support for adding feedback. Design and implement a new web interface to match the Graduate Student Government website. The service is a web based application developed using HTML/CSS, PHP, JQuery, JS and a MySQL database. Cybersickness Onset in Virtual Driving Simulators February Present Design and develop a VR simulation to study the onset of Cybersickness in a VR driving simulator. Design a user study to analyze how the symptoms of Cybersickness differ between users as they experience different driving scenarios. Model and texture a city environment to drive around. Incorporate a Logitech gaming steering wheel in Unity to drive the car in the VR simulation. Develop steering wheel interactions to model real world car behavior. Utilize multi-threading to offload data logging, steering wheel feedback and avatar animation behavior to get faster and efficient driving responses and better frame rate in the simulation. Passability Affordance June Present 3
4 Design and develop a VR simulation to study affordance judgments. The simulation utilizes a to-scale virtual replica of a real room with a sliding door apparatus to study passability affordance. Design a user study to analyze passability judgments in VR and the real world. Analyze data to compare passability judgments in the real world to VR. Develop a fully tracked high fidelity self-avatar system. Center for Workforce Development January Present Currently developing an aircraft startup training simulation to supplement the current curriculum for technical college students. The simulations involves modeling accurate real world physics and simulation logic. Developed an aircraft towing training simulation to supplement the current curriculum for technical college students. Developed a network based multi-user cargo bay inspection VR training simulation. The simulation allows users to walk around and click pictures within the simulation and take notes. The simulation generates a PDF report with the pictures and notes post experience. Previous Projects Fishing in Virtual Reality November March 2018 Presented as part of the Tangibles tutorial at IEEE VR Developed a VR fishing experience to demonstrate incorporation of 3D printed tangible objects in VR. The simulation uses an HTC Vive Head-Mounted Display, an HTC Vive tracker, a Microsoft Surface Dial and a multiple 3D printed objects to construct a fishing rod like tracking device. The dial is used as a reel for the fishing rod and communicates with the simulation using the OSC protocol. Developed interactions using scripting for real life like fishing rod interactions. Head Rotation Amplification Simulation September January 2018 Developed a VR simulation to study Perception-Action system calibration in the presence of stable and unstable perceptual perturbations. The simulation adds a rotational gain to the participants view in an immersive virtual environment as they try to shoot at targets. The system utilizes the HTC Vive Head-Mounted Display and external trackers to capture motion and produce perturbations. Graduate Student Government Website August October 2017 http: // gsg. people. clemson. edu/ Designed and implemented a new website for the GSG. The website is mobile device friendly. The website incorporates automatic Google calendar events, senate updates and other updates from different branches of the institution in a cohesive fashion. The website uses the Bootstrap framework along with JQuery customization to provide a dynamic and intuitive user experience. Augmented-Art Creation Tool (AACT) October March 2017 Developed an interactive mobile based Augmented Reality (AR) application. 4
5 Users use multi-finger gestures and physical device movement to scale, rotate and translate objects in an AR environment to create art pieces. Users can create and delete objects and particle systems in real-time. The application also allows manipulation of other attributes like shape, color, etc. at runtime. Bimanual Interaction Study August December 2016 Assisted in designing and running a user study to compare bimanual interaction using HMDs and large screen immersive displays. Conducted rigorous simulation testing focusing especially on physics and helped fix bugs. Qualitatively analyzed user behavior and data from the user study. Construction Conundrum October December 2015 Developed a desktop based multi-user interactive VR simulation. The simulation allows users to collaboratively manipulate (scale, rotate and translate) objects to solve puzzles and clear levels. The system uses Razer Hydra controllers to track hand movement for each user and interact with the environment. The simulation involved modeling multiple 3D objects, texturing, combining them in Unity to create virtual environments and writing scripts to identify gestures and map interactions for the controllers. Clemson Graduate School August December 2015 https: // www. clemson. edu/ graduate/ Developed and maintained several web pages and portals for the graduate school website. Managed an internal windows server for testing purposes. Managed graduate school internal databases. Video Streaming Study January August 2014 http: // cybertiger. clemson. edu/ vss/ Designed and conducted a user study to evaluate Internet-based video streaming strategies. Developed an application that interfaces with a Wii Remote to record real-time feedback from users based on hand movement as they view a video. Developed a program to automatically filter and detect user responses to video artifacts from the recorded Wii Remote data. Built a website and a svg graphing tool to look at user data using D3.js. Campus Banner + Design January December 2013 Implemented multiple websites with custom functionalities, animations and designs. Created WordPress themes for Student Affairs and other client websites based on custom design templates. Created small WordPress plugins for customized interactions and data handling. Created a responsive Clemson branded skeletal WordPress theme. Maintained CB+D website. Developed a web based interactive 3D campus map using three.js.
