1 President Michel Mike E. Curry, CPL Henry Resources LLC Midland, Texas Mike Curry is vice president of land and senior counsel for Henry Resources LLC. He joined Henry Resources in September 2014 and supervises all oil and gas legal work and land functions for the company. He is a former shareholder of Cotton Bledsoe Tighe & Dawson PC, Midland, where he was engaged in the private practice of oil and gas law for 25 years. A Certified Professional Landman, Curry is admitted to practice in Texas and New Mexico and is board-certified in oil, gas and mineral law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Curry received a bachelor s degree from The University of Texas and a law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law, cum laude. Prior to law school, he worked as an independent petroleum landman and in-house as a contract landman for Texaco Inc. His experience and legal practice covers most facets of the petroleum industry, with particular emphasis on producing property transactions, oil and gas contracts, exploration agreements and title matters. His geographic experience ranges from Alaska s North Slope to the Gulf of Mexico, and most producing areas in between, and includes work in coal and lignite mining, wind energy and natural gas marketing, A former chair of the AAPL Forms, Ethics, Publications and Bylaws committees, Curry served as second vice president and director of AAPL, was assistant chair of the NAPE Operators Committee and participated in drafting the new 2015 Model Form Operating Agreement. He also is a past president of the Permian Basin Landmen s Association. A former member of the State Bar of Texas Council for the Oil, Gas and Energy Resources Law Section, Curry is a frequent lecturer and author on oil and gas subjects, with particular emphasis on operating agreement and title matters. He was selected as a Super Lawyer in Energy & Natural Resources Law in 2012, 2013 and He and his wife of 39 years, Audrey L. Curry, live in Midland and have two adult children, Katherine and David, and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, Luke, Dexter and Finlee. Curry enjoys golf, photography and ballroom dancing. Personal Statement I am deeply honored to be nominated as president of AAPL. I look forward to working with the incoming Executive Committee and the AAPL staff to further the goals of AAPL and to serve landmen everywhere. I have been privileged over the past year to work with an exceptional Executive Committee and to serve alongside President David Miller. I pledge to continue the good work initiated by this executive committee, to have an open door and open mind and to encourage questions, comments, ideas and constructive input from all of the membership. Our industry is undergoing rapid change. By the end of 2019, driven by advancing technology and shale oil, the United States is projected by some to become the world s largest producer of oil and gas. With those changes, the land profession is becoming ever more a critical element of the new oil and gas industry. Landmen are challenged to make every effort to stay ahead of new developments in the industry. Through its many member services, education programs, committees and networking opportunities such as NAPE and the Global Business Conferences, AAPL can help land professionals meet these challenges. AAPL is financially sound and membership numbers are strong. We are at the perfect point in time and have a great opportunity to make a difference. By working together and utilizing our collective resources, we can assure that landmen have the opportunity to not only be part of this new and exciting industry, but also to lead. 3 First Vice President Jay W. Beavers, CPL Beavers Energy LP Sanger, Texas Jay Beavers began his career with Placid Oil Co. after graduating from Texas A&M University in He joined the Mississippi Association of Petroleum Landmen and the AAPL in January While living in Jackson, Mississippi, Beavers met and married his wife, Julia. In 1980 they moved to his family s ranch near Sanger, Texas, where they raised their two sons, James and Travis. A Certified Professional Landman, Beavers worked as a company landman for Enserch Exploration Inc. in Dallas for 12 years and for UPRC in Fort Worth for eight years until Anadarko Petroleum Corp. acquired UPRC. Since 2000, Beavers has been working as an independent landman out of a laundromat that he bought next door to the Dairy Queen in Sanger and converted to an office building. His love and support of the AAPL and the land profession has been demonstrated by chairing the AAPL Certification Committee, the AAPL Awards Committee and the Southwestern Legal Foundation Landman s Institute as well as serving as AAPL treasurer and on several other committees. Personal Statement The land profession is in my blood. My father, Jim Beavers, was a career landman with the H.L. Hunt family and served as AAPL president in My wife, Julia, has stood beside me for countless hours at various courthouses pulling books and taking notes. Our two sons, James and Travis, are Life Members of the AAPL and plan to sit for the CPL exam this year. The AAPL has come a long way since its inception. There have been good years and bad years in our profession. It has been a roller coaster ride, but the AAPL has survived the turbulent times and is currently thriving. The incoming Executive Committee will keep the AAPL on track and serve its membership to the best of its abilities. The AAPL has been very generous to me and my family. I am now blessed with the opportunity to give back to the AAPL. Thank you for nominating me as your first vice president.

5 Second Vice President Cranford D. Newell Jr., CPL Robert L. Bayless, Producer LLC Denver Cranford Newell is the land manager at Robert L. Bayless in Denver. He began as a landman with Bayless in 2012 and transitioned into his current role in During his six years at Bayless, he has managed the land aspects of prospects and drillsites in several major basins in the Rockies, including the San Juan, Paradox, Piceance, Sand Wash, Uinta, Powder River, Green River, Wind River and Big Horn. He also manages the company s domestic A&D activity. Prior to his roles at Bayless, Newell was a landman at Nadel & Gussman Rockies LLC in Denver, where his team focused on the Williston Basin as the Bakken and Three Forks play began to explode. He participated in the full range of land duties from leasing all the way to drilling and divesting the assets. Newell began in the oil and gas industry working for Berry Petroleum in Denver, where he experienced a great introduction to the industry and learned the core functions of the land profession. His areas of responsibility focused on the Rockies region, specifically the Uinta Basin and Piceance Basin. A member of AAPL since 2010, Newell became a Certified Professional Landman in He actively serves on the AAPL board as the director for the Denver Association of Petroleum Landman and is a member of the Annual Meeting Committee. He served for three years on the NAPE Operators Committee, which culminated with the honor of receiving the AAPL Committee Member of the Year Award. In addition, he is a past chairman of the DAPL Rocky Mountain NAPE Committee. Newell received a bachelor s degree in history with a minor in business from the University of Colorado Boulder and an MBA from the University of Denver. Personal Statement I am truly honored and humbled to be nominated to serve on the Executive Committee in the role of second vice president. I see this as a tremendous opportunity to serve our members, listen to their concerns and ensure that AAPL is serving the membership s best interest. Specific to my position, I look forward to working with the Landman Scholarship Trust to reward deserving and qualified students in accredited programs to pursue a meaningful career. 7 Third Vice President Aaron R. Yost, CPL Percheron Professional Services, LLC Bridgeport, West Virginia Aaron Yost is president of Percheron Professional Services, LLC. After graduating from West Virginia University in 1997, Yost began his career as a field landman with Mason Dixon Energy and worked throughout the Appalachian Basin states of New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio. Since the formation of Percheron, he s managed the operations of projects across the country, but he still refers to his entry into landwork in upstate New York as the good ol days. Yost has been a member of the Michael Late Benedum Chapter and AAPL since 2006, and he became a Certified Professional Landman in Having served the MLBC as treasurer, secretary, vice president and president, he s currently region director. He has served on and chaired several committees for AAPL, including Publications, Bylaws and Policy Manual, and Annual Meeting Golf. Additionally, he was secretary of the AAPL Educational Foundation Inc. for two years. In 2015 Yost was honored with the AAPL s Community Service Award for founding and running the MLBC charity golf event that benefits West Virginia University Medicine Children s as well as his involvement with coaching youth sports. Yost is a member of the Penn State Energy Land Management Advisory Board and a frequent speaker at West Virginia University s ELM classes. He s also a member of the WVU Medicine Children s Leadership Council, which assists with promoting the children s hospital and fundraising efforts. Yost and his wife, Sarah, live in Fairmont, West Virginia with their two sons, Tyler and Landon. A golfing family, they spend much of their free time during the warm months on the course or at their recently acquired driving range. Winter is all about skiing and basketball. Personal Statement In the time I ve been involved with AAPL committee work, I ve had the great fortune of working with and meeting some of the most passionate and entertaining landmen from all over the country. I ve been given advice, asked for input and shown appreciation from not only these landmen, but also AAPL. As I fulfill my role as third vice president, and for years to come, I hope that I can extend the same level of professionalism and kindness to others throughout our association. My involvement with AAPL has opened doors professionally and rewarded me with lasting friendships. It s a great organization that I m proud to be a member of and will continue to promote and serve.

9 Secretary Charles Chuck D. Walton Jr., CPL EOG Resources Inc. Oklahoma City Chuck Walton is land manager of the Oklahoma City division for EOG Resources Inc. He began his land career as a field landman in the Barnett Shale in Six years later, he joined EOG s Fort Worth division as an inhouse landman. In 2017, he transferred to EOG s Oklahoma City division and soon thereafter became land manager. An enthusiastic supporter of the AAPL, Walton joined the organization in 2007 and quickly got involved. Currently, he serves as chairman of the Certification Committee. He also has served as a member of the Promote Our Own task force and the Southwest Land Institute Committee. He became a Certified Professional Landman in In addition to the AAPL, Walton is an active member of the Oklahoma City Association of Professional Landmen, Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen and Fort Worth Association of Professional Landmen. He is a former president, first vice president and secretary of FWAPL and also served on numerous committees. Outside of professional interests, Walton volunteers his time with his church, Ducks Unlimited and supporting our troops. He enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, snow skiing and golfing. He and his wife, Angela, have been married for 13 years and live in Edmond, Oklahoma, with their three children: Kate, Hannah and Cole. Personal Statement I am honored and privileged to be nominated to serve as secretary during the term. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with incoming President Mike Curry, the rest of the Executive Committee and the AAPL staff to better serve our membership and landmen everywhere. I believe it is our personal responsibility to invest in the things we care deeply about. My career began in the Barnett Shale boom, and within months I was running a crew outside of Fort Worth. During a downturn I was instructed to dismiss half our crew. After that day I came to the realization that the guys who were let go were no different from me, other than the job title. After seeking advice from a landman friend, I determined that I had to differentiate myself, and the simple solution was to get involved. I began networking at the local and national levels. I earned my professional certifications and started taking a deeper interest in our industry. Opportunities to serve are endless. Dedicating a portion of your time to whatever you feel most strongly about will pay dividends. I am grateful for all the relationships I have made since I began getting involved, and I am looking forward to serving the people I care most deeply about in our profession. I am grateful for Randy Bartlett and Pherl Brossman with B&B Energy Interests LLC for giving me the opportunity to become a landman, Robert Peveto with Peveto & Associates Inc. for his leadership and mentoring, and Steve Wentworth and Matt Smith with EOG for the endless opportunities, constant support and friendship.

11 Treasurer Michael Mike A. Pisciotte, CPL Murfin Drilling Company Inc. Wichita, Kansas Mike Pisciotte serves as land manager for Murfin Drilling Company Inc., an independent E&P company, where he is responsible for all aspects of the land and legal department. He joined Murfin in this capacity in April 2007, after working as an independent field landman in the Mid-Continent region for several years. Pisciotte has greatly enjoyed his time as a landman and becoming involved with local industry professionals. He has served in many capacities for the Wichita Association of Petroleum Landmen, including vice president, president and AAPL director twice. Maintaining an active behind-the-scenes role with WAPL, he is involved in educational seminars, annual sporting clays and sponsorship of local member certifications. He also serves on the Kansas Independent Oil & Gas Association board. Pisciotte joined AAPL in 2008 and became a Certified Professional Landman in An active member of AAPL, he spent two terms as a director and has served on several committees, including the Certification Committee, the Marketing Committee and a previous Nominating Subcommittee. Prior to becoming a landman, Pisciotte earned his bachelor s degree from the University of Colorado Boulder and his master s degree in public administration, with an emphasis on public finance, budgeting and organizational management, from Wichita State University. He has previously worked for three public municipalities as a manager/administrator. Each of these positions exposed him to public, nonprofit budgeting practices (similar to AAPL s) with budgets ranging from $1.5 million to more than $300 million in annual expenditures. He is a proud son of Colorado s Western Slope, where he met and married his lovely bride, Victoria. Together, they have been blessed with three wonderful children: Dylan, Kierstin and Joseph. Pisciotte enjoys skiing, motorcycles, Wichita State Shockers men s basketball and spending time with his family. Personal Statement I am humbled to be nominated by my peers to serve AAPL as its next treasurer. I believe that the landman is a noble profession, serving as the trusted public and business face for the oil and gas industry, with said industry being vital to mankind s continued well-being. I am honored to have found such a noble profession and to meet and work with some of the industry s finest people. I am excited about the opportunity to continue serving my profession and peers in the ongoing effort to improve our AAPL organization and the working environment for all landmen. I will endeavor to serve the AAPL membership faithfully by promoting our professional values and standards, with a strong eye toward goals that benefit the members. I look forward to working with Michel E. Curry and the rest of the Executive Committee and board of directors, in service to you, the members.
