Gogo on the occasion of her retirement from the Bureau of Statistics and Plans and extending Un Dangkolo Na Si Yu'os Ma'ase' to her for 26 years of service to the government of Guam and the people of Guam. l BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMITTEE ON RULES OF I 2 MliVA 'TRENTA/ TRES iva LIHESLATURAN GUAHAN: 3 WHEREAS, Marylou S. Gogo retires from the Bureau of Statistics and Plans 4 on May 29, 2015, after completing 26 years of government service; and 5 WHEREAS, Ms. Gogo graduated from George Washington High School in , and prepared for a career in administrative services by acquiring job skills and 7 completing the Secretarial Techniques Training Certification Program in 1988; and I

3 \VHEREAS, Ms. Gogo first started work at Bank of Hawaii as a Commercial 2 Loans Clerk in 1973, and through hard work and professionalism was promoted to a 3 Senior Loan Clerk in 1974; and 4 WHEREAS, Ms. Gogo then worked at Andersen AFB, Guam, as a Secretary 5 (Stenographer) from 1977 to 1990, where she received numerous outstanding and 6 superior performance awards and certificates of commendation; and in 1990 to worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Office of the Assistant Inspector 8 General, North Pacific Region, Guam Office; and 9 \VHEREAS, in 1991, Iv1s. Gogo began her career with the government of 10 Guam as an Administrative Assistant with the Guam Health Planning & Development 11 Agency; and in 2002, Ms. Gogo became a part of the Bureau of Statistics and Plans 12 with a lateral transfer as a result of the organizational merger of the Guam Health 13 Planning & Development Agency with the Department of Commerce to the Bureau of 14 Statistics and Plans; and 15 WHEREAS, Ms. Gogo has served under four Executive Branch 16 administrations and served under five Directors at the Bureau of Statistics and Plans; 17 and 18 WHEREAS, in her 26 years of government service she has been involved in 19 complex, often sensitive, administrative and fiscal planning efforts in support of the 20 Bureau's mandates; has provided fiscal support in the administration of both local and 21 federal accounts; has been involved in the preparation and administration of the 22 Bureau's Annual Budget; was responsible for the processing of the Bureau's payroll 23 for both locally and federally funded employees; advocated, supported, guided 24 employees in their human resources needs; provided direct fiscal administration and 25 support to the Guam Developmental Disabilities Council (GDDC); assumed the acting 26 Administrative Officer position and responsibilities for a period of three years when 2

4 I the Bureau's Administrative Officer was on extended military leave; performed 2 additional responsibilities without compensation in furtherance of the Bureau's 3 planning efforts; received numerous recognitions on her professionalism, outstanding 4 achievement and performance of job duties and tasks; and was instrumental in helping 5 pave the way for Government of Guam employees to receive their Merit Bonuses, to 6 name just a few; and 7 WHEREAS, as a long-time member of the Bureau of Statistics and Plans, she 8 is recognized for her outstanding work for the Bureau and will be missed for her 9 valuable institutional knowledge and contributions, for her friendly and personable 10 demeanor, for her generosity sharing with the Bureau's staff her wonderful and 11 delicious pastries, and for her professional and diligent work ethic; now, therefore, be 12 it 13 RESOLVED, that the Committee on Rules of I Mina'Trentai Tres Na 14 Liheslaturan Guahan does hereby, on behalf of I Liheslaturan Guahan and the people 15 of Guam, commend and congratulate Ms. Marylou S. Gogo on the occasion of her 16 retirement from the Bureau of Statistics and Plans and the Government of Guam; and 17 does express a sincere Un Dangkolo Na Si Yu'os Ma'ase' to Marylou; to her husband, 18 Joseph C. Gogo; and to her children, Marissa, Joseph Clint, Sarai, daughter-in-law 19 Desiree and son-in-laws Frank and Danny, in recognition of her 26 years of service; 20 and does further extend best wishes to Marylou Gogo as she enters the ranks of the 21 retired class; as she pursues other endeavors and social activities, especially Friday 22 nights dancing at the Elks Club; and most especially, as she enriches her life by 23 spending quality and precious time with family and close friends; and be it further 24 RESOLVED, that the Speaker and the Chairperson of the Committee on Rules 25 certify, and the Legislative Secretary attest to, the adoption hereof, and that copies of 26 the same be thereafter transmitted to Ms. Marylou S.
