1 David S. Weinstock, Esq. Program Moderator David Weinstock has served as in-house and outside counsel advising prescription and OTC drug, biotech, medical device and cosmetic companies, including Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals (where he was Director/Senior Regulatory Counsel), Novo Nordisk, Omnyx (a joint venture of GE and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), Leo Pharma, Sanofi, Henry Schein, Inc., American Home Products, and the Yves Saint Laurent, Oscar de la Renta and Nina Ricci cosmetic brands. He was also a member of the senior management team that rehabilitated a company that plead guilty to violations of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. Mr. Weinstock s areas of specialization include: research and development/glp, clinical trials/gcp, manufacturing/gmp, labeling, advertising and promotion, controlled substances, anti-kickback, fraud and abuse and the Animal Welfare Act. He also advises on compliance, trademark, contract and general corporate matters. Mr. Weinstock is the author of numerous articles in the food and drug law, antitrust law and federal practice areas. He has taught food and drug law at Brooklyn Law School, Long Island University School of Pharmacy and in the St. Joseph's University Pharmaceutical Marketing MBA Program. In addition to his work in the food and drug law arena, he has held positions in the electronics and entertainment industries, including at Sony and Pokemon. Mr. Weinstock is admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut, as well as in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He earned an LLM in Trade Regulation (with concentrations in food and drug law and antitrust law) from New York University School of Law and holds a JD from Albany Law School of Union University. He received a BA with High Honors in Economics from Hobart College prior to which he attended the Bronx High School of Science.

Mr. Rickles is responsible for managing a team of trademark professionals, who are responsible for handling a portfolio of almost 35,000 trademarks in dozens of countries worldwide, as well as Teva's copyright and domain name matters.

Practice Description Advises clients on international trademark, design patent, copyright, unfair competition and appellation of origin/geographic indication issues, including the EU Community Trademark, International Registrations under the Madrid Union (Trademarks) and the Hague Treaty (Industrial Designs), TRIPs, the Paris Convention and the Berne Convention. Develops strategies for acquiring, enforcing, maintaining and assigning intellectual property rights with an emphasis on foreign laws and international treaties, and litigates international and multi-country conflicts. He was promoted to Director, Brand Development for BI - New York in 1999, Managing Director for BI - New York in 2001, President, U.S. Eastern Division in 2003, President, U.S./Canada Eastern & Midwestern Divisions in 2010, and in 2012 promoted to President of Brand Institute. He is responsible for the Austin, Boston, Chicago, Frankfurt, Geneva, London, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Raleigh-Durham, San Francisco, Tokyo and Toronto regions.
