2 RESEARCH THRUSTS Dynamic Sequential Decision Theory Game theory Proposed a refinement concept for a class of dynamic linear-quadratic-gaussian (LQG) games with asymmetric information, called common information based Markov perfect equilibrium (CIMPE) Established the existence and uniqueness of CIMPE in a class of LQG games Devised an algorithm to compute CIMPE in LQG games Extended the framework to dynamic games with resource constraints Team Theory Established the existence of team-optimal solutions in a large class of static and dynamic sequential teams Consequently, proved that a large class of linear-quadratic-gaussian (LQG) teams with no-observation sharing information structure admits team-optimal solutions Proved that several information and control problems admit optimal solutions Partially settled a long-standing open question in stochastic control theory Dynamic Incentive Design Established the existence of appropriate incentive scheme in a class of dynamic incentive design problems, under which the strategy of the leader is affine in its information Securities, Options and Auctions in Dynamic Settings Studying pricing strategies of securities and options in dynamic settings Studying auctions for bundled goods and establishing the existence and computation of appropriate equilibrium Probability Theory Topology of Information on Measure Spaces Studied a new topology, called topology of information, on probability measure spaces over a product of two Polish spaces Identified sufficient conditions on a sequence of measures to converge in the topology of information Security of Cyber-Physical Systems DoS Attacks on Networked Control Systems Formulated three novel problems modeling strategic jamming attacks on networked control systems as dynamic zero-sum games Established the existence of saddle-point equilibrium in all three games Proved that under certain assumptions, the controller under jamming attack acts according to a threshold based strategy Developed a framework for analyzing dynamic cyber-physical attacks under informationand action-constrained players Resource Allocation (Colonel Blotto) Games Formulated a novel non-cooperative cyber-security problem in which multiple institutions, who can be under malicious attack, add dummy entities and share resources in order to secure themselves Identified conditions when institutions add entities and share their resources in order to secure themselves when playing under Nash equilibrium Abhishek Gupta, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign 2 of 5
