4 Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Delegation Achievements The delegation meets Mr Marc Jobling and Mr Graeme McLean (third and fourth from left) from FCA. The former Financial Services Authority was converted into the Financial Conduct Authority ( FCA ) in The discussion was focused on the recent reform on regulating banks (including financial institutions). Institute of Directors (IoD) Lunch at the Café Duke, IoD, and touring of the headquarters premises of IoD at 116 Pall Mall. Learned from the success stories of international leaders who spoke at the Annual Convention. Learned about the development of Financial Conduct Authority and MTR Crossrail Operation. Strengthened the connection between HKIoD and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London. Strengthened communication between HKIoD and The Institute of Directors in the UK. 5 Outreach and Kindred Relations About (UK) IoD The IoD is a non-party-political UK business organisation founded by Royal Charter in It is the world s most experienced and long-standing organisation advocating director professionalism. HKIoD is one of the members of The IoD International Network of Affiliates. MTR Crossrail Operation 1903 HKIoD Members can enjoy IoD facilities in London The delegation meets at Liverpool Street Station, London. Upon presentation of a valid membership card, HKIoD members are entitled to access IoD facilities in its prestigious Pall Mall premises in London, which include the following: public meeting areas full PC facilities with and internet access a business centre offering 26 rooms available for hire function rooms with capacity for events ranging from 20 to 350 people a library of business information resource and reference materials a restaurant and other dining facilities Institute of Directors, 116 Pall Mall, London, SW1Y 5ED 44 (0) (0) Mr Paul Parsons leads the delegation to a guided train ride to Seven Kings Station and back. 6 Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, London For the first time, the delegation visits the new premise of the ETO in Bedford Square. The London office is responsible for interface with four Nordic countries, three Baltic countries, Russia and the UK. Hong Kong s strengths are being projected in economic and trade relationship as springboard for the Mainland market and in exchanges of culture, education, science and technology as well as healthcare. InvestHK promotes Hong Kong to investors from the UK. London is the busiest and most successful office of InvestHK.
