We look forward to working with you to ensure a successful new school year for your child! 2 Welcome to Team 9! This year your advisory teacher will collect some of your supplies (items listed with an * ) for community usage. Please try to have all of your supplies by Monday, August 15 th. Please remember that supplies may need to be replenished throughout the year. 2 packs of pens or pencils (name brands work best in pencil sharpeners) 1 pack of pencils* 1 pack pencil top erasers 1 pack of colored pencils * 1 pack of markers (thick or thin, at least 8) * 4 large glue sticks (Elmer brand preferably) * 1 pack of different colored highlighters (at least 4 recommended) (Language Arts & Social Studies) 1 ruler (inches and centimeters) Math teacher will collect for classroom use. 1 pencil pouch 1 pack of graph paper (for Math not needed for math resource room) 2 three subject 5 Star Mead (or comparable) spiral notebook with pockets ( 1 red for Science and 1 blue for Math 4 folders (three prong, two pocket) ( 2 blue for Math and 2 green for Social Studies ) 2 2 pocket 3 prong folders for Language Arts (Yellow if possible) 1 pack of small Post it notes (1 3/8 x 1 7/8) (Language Arts) 1 folder for homework (we recommend a brightly colored sturdy folder to be used for all classes) Texas Instrument TI 30X II S Calculator (Note: This is the same calculator that was used in 6 th and 7 th grade. If you choose to purchase from an outside source (ie. Walmart, Target, etc.) please be sure that it is this exact item.) o If your student is taking Algebra 1, a TI 84 Plus graphing calculator may be purchased and used. This is the calculator they will use throughout high school, however is not required this year. 2 boxes of tissues * Boys 2 rolls of paper towels ( Science ) Girls Clorox wipes (or comparable) ( Science) ear buds to use with computers (many activities will require ear buds/headphones) loose leaf notebook paper (three ring, college ruled) Suggestion from Team 9 teachers to start the year off right: Stock up on extra folders, loose leaf paper, and pencils while on sale. Many students folders get worn out as the year progresses and it s nice to have extras on hand. ** Students will receive their schedules on the first day of school** Enjoy the rest of your summer. If your child no longer has his/her calculator, a new one can be purchased the evening of open house. The calculators will also be available for purchase through the school office.
