1 Notes on how to fill in AFIAP and EFIAP forms THE AFIAP DISTINCTION 1. The distinction "Artist FIAP" (AFIAP) is the first artistic distinction that can be obtained. It is awarded to photographic artists whose artistic qualities, technique and production of work have been acknowledged through the participation in international salons under FIAP Patronage - i.e. they must have a FIAP Number - e.g. 2012/120 (copy this link into Internet explorer for examples): 2. The candidate for this distinction must: a) Have taken part with success in international salons under FIAP Patronage for at least 1 year; i.e. his first FIAP-recognised acceptance must have occurred at least 1 year before submission for the distinction. b) Have taken part with success in at least: 15 international salons under FIAP Patronage In at least 8 different countries; a Circuit has to be considered as a single salon. c) Have obtained at least 40 acceptances with at least 15 different works in international salons under FIAP Patronage. NOTE! 4 of these acceptances must have been PRINTS so you will have to enter at least one print salon. Candidates for AFIAP distinction must submit: a) A complete application using the AFIAP form enclosed - NOTE! this form must not be altered in any way or it will be rejected by FIAP. b) 5 photographic works of the candidate in form of a digital file on CD. All the submitted works must have obtained at least 3 FIAP-recognised acceptances. Use your highest resolution JPEG. (Format JPEG, compression10, at least 3600 pixels for the greatest dimension). Name the files thus: Code FIAP of the Federation (or ILFIAP number) + underscore + First name + underscore + Surname + underscore + Title of the work +.jpg Note: G04 is the code for the Welsh Federation. Example: G04_Jo_Bloggs_Leading Pack.jpg Label the CD: Code FIAP of the Federation (or ILFIAP number) + underscore + First name +Space + Surname + underscore + Year of application. Example: G04_Jo Bloggs_ The following procedure must be followed: a) Send the following to the FIAP distinctions Officer - Jan Cawley. 1. the complete document (pages A, B, C and D) to her. 2. Mail a paper copy of Page C duly signed (by the candidate). 3. Mail the CD containing the 5 digital files of the works. 4. Send her the fee (You will be informed of the amount near the submission date - at present this will be between the middle to the end of February 2013). 5. When the AFIAP distinction is awarded, the candidate will receive a diploma and a badge with green enamel. THE EFIAP DISTINCTION 1. The distinction "Excellence FIAP" (EFIAP) is awarded to photographic artists who, apart from having excellent techniques, have a significant number of their work frequently accepted in many international salons under FIAP Patronage. 2. The candidate for this distinction must: a) Be holder of the AFIAP distinction. An application for this distinction can be made 1 year after the award of the AFIAP distinction, based on the date of the diploma.

2 b) Have taken part with success in at least 30 international salons under FIAP Patronage in at least 20 different countries; a Circuit has to be considered as a single salon. c) Have obtained at least 250 acceptances with at least 50 different works in international salons under FIAP Patronage. NOTE! 25 of these acceptances must have been PRINTS so you will have to enter at least one print salon. 3. Candidates for EFIAP distinction must submit: a) A complete application using the EFIAP form enclosed - NOTE! this form must not be altered in any way or it will be rejected by FIAP. b) 5 photographic works of the candidate in form of a digital file on CD. These works must be different from those submitted for his/her AFIAP distinction. All the submitted works must have obtained 3 FIAP-recognised acceptances. Use your highest resolution JPEG. (Format JPEG, compression10, at least 3600 pixels for the greatest dimension). FILLING IN THE FORM: If you have not used Excel before, you will see some Tabs at the bottom left of your screen marked Page A to Page D. If you click the mouse on any of these, the relevant page will appear. Page A Fill in with your personal details as shown in blue except: 1. Leave blank 2. Fill in if you have already purchased a life card 3. Fill in if you have already obtained an AFIAP. 4. Fill in if you have already obtained an AFIAP. NOTE! Type in exactly the same BOX as shown in the example form - a long name/address will run over into the other boxes - do not worry. Page B Fill in with your personal details as shown in blue; 1. AFIAP or EFIAP (This may have filled automatically).

3 2. Leave blank. 3. From your list on Page D, count the total number of FIAP approved acceptances (It is useful to have a few over the required amount, in case some have to be removed by Jan if they do not fulfill the conditions. NOTE! ALL ACCEPTANCES MUST HAVE FIAP PATRONAGE - DO NOT INCLUDE OTHERS. I.E. THE WELSH SALON IS NOT ACCEPTABLE - IT IS A NATIONAL SALON. 4. Leave Blank. 5. Leave Blank. 6. From your list on Page D, count the number of different works. 7. Leave blank. 8. Leave Blank. 9. From your list on Page D, count the number of awards - leave blank if none. (You may include any award gained in a salon with FIAP patronage, i.e. PSA, etc.). 10. Leave blank. 11. Audio Visual Distinctions only. 12. Audio Visual Distinctions only. 13. First FIAP acceptance. 14. FIAP Patronage Number. Page C Fill in as shown in blue; 1. AFIAP or EFIAP (This may have filled automatically). 2. You must submit 5 of your works as digital images on CD. Each must have been accepted in at least 3 salons. If you are applying for an EFIAP, the five images must be different from the five used for the AFIAP. They can be monochrome or colour (a mixture if possible). 3. List the 5 works as shown in the table. 4. Date each work was first accepted. 5. DO NOT FORGET TO SIGN THE DOCUMENT! Page D Fill in ALL your acceptances WITH FIAP PATRONAGE as shown in blue FINALLY - I REPEAT! ALL ACCEPTANCES MUST HAVE FIAP PATRONAGE - make sure you have filled in ALL your acceptances, including your AFIAP ones if you are doing an EFIAP. IF THEY DO NOT HAVE A PATRONAGE NUMBER AFTER THEM, THEN THEY ARE NOT FIAP ACCEPTABLE - PLEASE REMOVE THEM!!! me at: janetepryor@gmail.com

4 Excel Compliance Forms Enclosed is an Excel Compliance form to help you keep track of your acceptances and FIAP requirements - you do not have to fill it in, but you may find it helpful. NOTE! ALL SALONS MUST HAVE FIAP PATRONAGE - DO NOT INCLUDE OTHERS. Instructions 1. Under Works list all the titles of new works that you have had accepted. 2. Under Success Rate - Prints enter the number of prints accepted with this title. 3. Under Success Rate - DPI enter the number of DPIs accepted with this title. 4. Under Salons enter the names of all FIAP salons that you have had acceptances in (this includes the same salon in different years). 5. Under Countries enter all the different countries you have had acceptances in. Do not repeat countries, but note that the UK includes Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England as separate countries). 6. List the awards individually with brief details.
