1 Recyclebulary WHERE WASTE MUST BE CONFERRED
2 National and international symbols that help use to correctly separate waste Recycling contribution This symbol indicates that the manufacturer adheres to Consortia, provided for bylaw to organise the recovery and recycling of packaging. Widely spread in Northern Europe, it is of little significance in Italy as the relevant authorities have not issued precise provisions. Nevertheless, manufacturers exporting to other European countries in which these consortia are already operating, expose this symbol. Recycled or recyclable packaging Triangle symbols with arrows around the outside were both born with the 1983 European Directive on packaging. The first one regards or cardboard packaging and the second one. Both can signify two things: that the packaging is recyclable but not necessarily recycled. Therefore, without further specification, both symbols are ambiguous. The numbers inside the second symbol from 1 to 6 indicate the type of used according to a predetermined code. Sometimes, the number is accompanied by more precise acronyms (e.g. 02-PE-HD=high density polyethylene - 04-PE-LD=low density polyethylene). Number 7 means the material is not recyclable. ACC AL CA PE PET PP PS PVC VE Symbols of materials used for packaging Indicates the container is made of steel and can be put in the differentiated waste container Indicates the container is made of aluminium Indicates the container is made of coupled to other material Indicates the is composed of polyethylene Indicates the is composed of polyethylene terephthalate Indicates the is composed of polypropylene Indicates the container is made of polystyrene Indicates the is composed of polyvinyl chloride Indicates the container is made of glass and can be put in the differentiated waste container Advice for differentiated collection These symbols generally indicate that the package should be thrown away in the differentiated waste containers. The symbol with the litter bin, which is often shown in various ways indicates to please dispose of carefully after use, reminding us that waste must not be abandoned in the environment but thrown away in the appropriate containers. Hazard symbols These symbols indicate toxic, flammable and harmful products
