4 Lot 14. FOREIGN MACHINE MADE, Sparkler. Flat ribbon of blue, white and oxblood red, in a clear marble. One tiny rough spot on it. These have been identified as French, though they may be Dutch or German. Circa /8". Mint(-) (9.0). Estimate: $25-$50 Lot 15. PELTIER GLASS COMPANY, National Line Rainbo. Interesting two-color four-ribbon National Line Rainbo. Four ribbons of semiopaque brown on light blue. In great shape. Ottawa IL, circa /8". Mint (9.9). Estimate: $25-$50 Lot 16. CONTEMPORARY HANDMADE, Tom Thornburg. Handpainted glazed China. Beautiful example. One tiny piece of glaze is flaked off. Unsigned, but handmade by Tom Thornburg. 1-1/4". Mint(-) (9.2). Estimate: $15-$30 Lot 17. OTHER HANDMADE, Mist. Harder color to find for this type. Transparent clear base with subsurface layer of stretched semiopaque red bands. In very good shape. Germany, circa /8". Mint (9.6). Estimate: $40-$80 Lot 18. SWIRL, Ribbon Core. Double Ribbon Core Swirl. One ribbon is opaque white, the other is opaque orange. The outer layer is two sets of yellow strands, mirroring the ribbon edges. Overall tiny flakes, tiny chips, pits. A quick polish will reveal a real beauty. Impressive size for this type. Germany, circa /8". Good(+) (7.9). Estimate: $60-$125

Lot 19. CONTEMPORARY HANDMADE, J.R. Hooper. Lot of two (2) items. Both are glass pill jars filled with tiny handmade marbles. One is filled with clear marbles, the other with with swirls.

At first I thought this was a contemporary. However, it is a remelted large antique green Mica. Beautiful looking marble. Germany, circa 1860-1920. 1-1/4". Remelted. Estimate: $50-$100 Lot 21.

CHAMPION AGATE COMPANY, Furnace Scraping. Lot of two (2) marbles. Both are Furnace Scraping marbles. Both have a flake of glass missing as the result of a blowout during annealing.

5 Lot 19. CONTEMPORARY HANDMADE, J.R. Hooper. Lot of two (2) items. Both are glass pill jars filled with tiny handmade marbles. One is filled with clear marbles, the other with with swirls. Nothing is signed, but they are by J.R. Hooper. Jars are corked. About 1" high, the marbles are tiny. All Mint. Estimate: $50-$100 Lot 20. OTHER HANDMADE, Mica. Lot of two (2) marbles. Both are earthenware with a green glaze on them. One is similar to a Bennington and has blue highlights. The other looks like majolica. Germany, circa /4". Mint. These were recovered from "The Marble Wreck" described in Captain Dan Berg's book "Wreck Alley III". The were recovered from a late 1800s shipwreck off the coast of Long Island. Each is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Estimate: $50-$100 Lot 24. TRANSITIONAL, Crease Pontil. Lot of three (3) marbles. All are white-base crease pontil. One is red swirl, one is blue swirl, one is yellow swirl. Their origin is unknown, they could be either German or Japanese. Circa 1930s. All are 11/16". All are Mint. Estimate: $50-$100 Lot 25. ASSORTED HANDMADE. Lot of six (6) marbles. Five (5) are peewees. Includes three (3) Latticinio Core Swirls, one (1) Banded Swirl, one (1) Mist, one (1) Onionskin. The Mist has a flake, the Onionskin has an internal fracture, the Banded Swirl has a cold roll at the top, the other three are Mint. Germany, circa Mint (9.8) to Near Mint(+) (8.7). 1/2" to 19/32". Estimate: $40-$80

Lot 26. ASSORTED HANDMADE. Lot of seven (7) marbles. Includes two (2) Micas, two (2) Solid Core Swirls, two (2) Divided Core Swirls, one (1) Latticinio Core Swirl.

Divided Core Swirl with cage outer layer. Bright colors. The marble is unsigned, but it is by David Salazar. 1-3/16". Mint (9.5). Estimate: $30-$60 Lot 28. PELTIER GLASS COMPANY, Peerless Patch.

Ottawa IL, circa 1925-1935. 5/8" to 11/16". Mint (9.9-9.7). Estimate: $30-$60 Lot 29. AKRO AGATE COMPANY, Moss Agate. Lot of seven (7) marbles. All are Moss Agates. A variety of color patches.

6 Lot 26. ASSORTED HANDMADE. Lot of seven (7) marbles. Includes two (2) Micas, two (2) Solid Core Swirls, two (2) Divided Core Swirls, one (1) Latticinio Core Swirl. All have some damage, the Micas have the worst of it. 1/2" to 25/32". Near Mint (8.6) to Good(-) (7.2). Estimate: $20- $40 Lot 27. CONTEMPORARY HANDMADE, David Salazar. Beautiful example. Divided Core Swirl with cage outer layer. Bright colors. The marble is unsigned, but it is by David Salazar. 1-3/16". Mint (9.5). Estimate: $30-$60 Lot 28. PELTIER GLASS COMPANY, Peerless Patch. Lot of six (6) marbles. All are Peltier Peerless Patch. Three (3) red patch on white, two (2) yellow patch on light blue, one (1) red patch on light blue. All in great shape. This was recovered from "The Marble Wreck" described in Captain Dan Berg's book "Wreck Alley III". These were recovered from a late 1800s shipwreck off the coast of Long Island. Each is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Estimate: $75-$150 Lot 34. CONTEMPORARY HANDMADE, Bruce Troeh. Lot of six (6) tiny handmade contemporary marbles in a magnifying pill box. Lot 44. CONTEMPORARY HANDMADE, David Grant Maul. Hard to find marble from an early glass artist. This is an end of cane Joseph Coat. Signed "D G Maul 1993 USA".

$Clear base with yellow, white, blue and red ribbons. There appears to be a small annealing fracture inside the marble following the top edge of the yellow ribbon.$ $Annealing fractures are very common in this type. Ottawa IL, circa 1935-1940. 19/32". 9 Lot 44. CONTEMPORARY HANDMADE, David Grant Maul. Hard to find marble from an early glass artist. This is an end of cane Joseph Coat. Signed "D G Maul 1993 USA". David is glass artist who produced marbles and paperweights for a few years in the 1990s. He still works glass, specializing solely in Christmas ornaments. Very hard to find artist. 1-5/8". Mint (9.9). Estimate: $60-$125 Lot 45. PELTIER GLASS COMPANY, Rainbo. Rainbo Fruit Cocktail. Clear base with yellow, white, blue and red ribbons. There appears to be a small annealing fracture inside the marble following the top edge of the yellow ribbon. Annealing fractures are very common in this type. Ottawa IL, circa /32". Mint (9.5). One pole is a red donut with a purple helix emanating from it. The other pole is a purple donut with a purple helix emanating from it. Superb example, and larger than normal. Germany, circa /8". 10 Lot 49. PELTIER GLASS COMPANY, Character Marble (comic). Black transfer of Herbie on a black and white Peerless Patch. It is hard to see which is the base and which is the patch, because they are both about the same size. The transfer is strong, but a tiny bit lies on the black (because there is so much black).
