2 Depending on where you are in your career path, California s community colleges can assist with the transition from school to work or advancement to a more highly skilled job. And there are plenty of options to choose from in the twocounty region! WHY COMMUNITY COLLEGE? EDUCATED HELP WANTED The world of work is changing. Employers want job candidates/applicants with more education and training. Even for jobs that traditionally did not require any postsecondary preparation, having a high school diploma is simply not enough anymore! A community college education can give you access to quality jobs and good wages. By 2018, 63 percent of job openings will require workers with at least some college education.
