9 Capability in technology and innovation Capability Statement 1 Systems and Policies Understand the purpose and function of digital health systems and technologies implemented at a local, state, or national level. Capability Statement 2 Communication Use technology as a part of effective communication in health and health care delivery. Capability Statement 3 Data and knowledge Use data and data systems to inform, deliver, and improve health and health care practice at an individual, team, or systems level. Capability Statement 4 Clinical Practice Integrate different aspects of technology to provide best practice and innovative models of care. 10 Capability Statement 1 Systems and Policies Understand the purpose and function of digital health systems and technologies implemented at a local, state, or national level. Performance cues: Understand the key components of digital health systems within Australia and how they support care at state and national levels, across settings Understand the value and functions of using digital systems and technologies Understand ethical, legislative, economic, and policy implications associated with using digital technologies and systems. For example: - Privacy and security.

11 Capability Statement 5 Transforming Care Participate in implementation, evaluation and co-design processes to drive improvement and stimulate change. Performance cues: Problem-solve and take actions to resolve basic technology challenges and disruptions that impact on practice and the delivery of quality care Demonstrate independent and lifelong learning by remaining up-to-date and adapting to evolving and emerging digital systems and technologies, i.e. disruptive technologies Utilise evidence to act in an improvement-minded way to affect change. For example: - Report user experiences to relevant department, manager, and/or vendor - Present solutions and advocate for change Work with others to generate solutions and new approaches to working within digital contexts. For example: - Integrating digital processes into workflows - Generating solutions to uptake barriers - Taking part in co-design of new systems
