The institutional audit has been completed. Consultations for the mining code review are ongoing, which Page 1 of 8
2 have recorded great success to date. The work on the establishment of the geological database has began. The SESA study is advancing; so far the focus has been the social aspects of mining. Equipment to artisanal miners and cooperatives is being delivered in Katanga. More such equipment is being delivered to SAESSCAM antennas in Maniema and South Kivu provinces. As regards traceability, provision of technical assistance to ITRI/iTSci has begun that will soon materialize through the signing of a Protocole d'accord with the Government. Work on the establishment of a Women in mining network in DRC has also begun which has gathered great enthusiasm to date from a large number of potential women participants. Follow-up on existing, completed or nearly completed operational activities (Mining Code, Institutional Audit, SESA, MRAC study, RENAFEM, KEIDI, Accountability Platform, Artisanal Mining related activities) and decide on next steps will be undertaken during the next January supervision mission.
