4 Advanced Materials Expertise: Each application has a unique combination of functional requirements that may include: Electrical Performance Aero Thermal Performance Structural Integrity Environmental Specification Water Jet Cutting Machine Each of these functional requirements has a unique combination of material property requirements, such as: Strength and Modulus Retention of Electrical Properties at High Temperatures Resistance to Aircraft Fluids These functional requirements and related material properties may change as a function of part location or use time. ETFE Processing Facility ARC Technologies has the expertise to meet the needs of a wide variety of functional requirements. Listed below are examples of our unique materials solutions. Multifunctional Materials Example 1: These are materials that exhibit gradients in some properties as a function of location in the part. We manufacture a variety of absorber foam materials with electrical resistivity properties that increases in-depth within the part. As a result performance is improved substantially. Example 2: These materials are designed to perform more than one job to meet the needs of the application. Injection Molding Equipment One example of a multifunctional material at ARC is Radar Camouflage Unit (RCU). These units must survive environmental exposure, as well as any unique structural properties as dictated by the functional requirements of the part, while performing an important electrical task.
