1 EOS Min-i with WiFi (Compatible with Lumi-Link) INSTALLATION AND OPERATING MANUAL Please read ALL the following pages before attempting installation to ensure complete understanding of what is required EOS Min-i with WiFI Controller The Color Change system takes the concept of marine underwater lighting installations to new levels of brightness, color and underwater experience. The innovative EOS Min-i with WiFi allows the boat owner to achieve unrivalled levels of color options and lighting modes over the full color spectrum. The Color Controller allows you to choose and easily adjust your light color, and by scrolling through the various inbuilt lighting modes, you can select from a number of predefined colors and color cycle sequences. The Controller also incorporates fish attraction modes with variable strobe rates to enhance your fishing trip or sea life observation. Color cycles and color sweeps bring dynamic moving light scenes to the boat. The EOS Min-i with WiFi controller has built in WiFi. This allows you to control your lights from your iphone or ipad using the App, which mimics the controller on you mobile device. The Controller is also compatible with Lumi-Link - s API which enables control of your lights from a certified MFD, or connected ios device. See for more information. For the ultimate party boat, The EOS Mini Controller has built in sound to light capabilities. The lights can be setup to synchronise their color change with the beat and frequency of your favourite music. Note: Refer to the relevant light installation instructions for how to install the lights onto your boat, and how to connect the system together. 2 Mechanical Installation Installation Considerations: Select a suitable flat surface that is accessible from behind. Ensure there are no obstructions and there is adequate clearance behind the surface to allow for the Color Controller cable entry and positioning. (Ensure the chosen position also has easy cable routing to the first Lumi-Hub in the series) Installation Procedure: 1. Cut the hole to the correct size (60mm diameter), and ensure there is enough clearance behind the mounting panel for the controller to fit into (123mm clearance required). NB: Extreme care should be taken to cut the hole to the correct size. Always cut a smaller hole than necessary and file outwards until it is the correct size. 2. Feed the Color Controller through the hole and then using the clamp provided lock in place. Place the nuts onto the threaded bar, and tighten. Do not exceed 1Nm torque force on each nut. 3. For thicker panels the mounting bracket can be shortened using the guide holes as cut points. For external installations or where water may access the unit it is recommended that an appropriate marine sealant be used between the back of the Controller and the surface. Electrical Installation Plug the Color Controller into the first Lumi-Hub in the series. The installation is terminated using a DMX Terminator plugged into the last Lumi-Hub in the series - refer to the SMX 13 installation manual for further information. The EOS controller is for 12/24volt DC operation. Under no circumstances should the Controller be connected directly to Mains AC voltage. Always use a suitable fuse or circuit breaker to protect the complete system. Using the supplied DMX cable connect one end to the 3 pin pig tail connector on the back of the controller. Connect the other end to the data in port of the Lumi-Hub. If using more than one hub, use a DMX extension cable to link the next Lumi-Hub. Do not cut or extend the DMX link cable. Pre-molded Extension cables are available in 1 meter, meter and 1 meter lengths as required. Multiple extensions cables can be combined together if a further distance is required. Plug the supplied DMX terminator into the last Lumi-Hub. Always ensure the DMX Terminator is used and securely in place, without the terminator environmental noise and interference can cause lights to misinterpret signals. 2

Light Set-up The Initial Light Setup tells the controller what position the lights are installed on the vessel so that they can be sent information in the correct order and color change in the

Setting up the lights with their correct position ensures modes such as Color Sweep function correctly. Set up is very straightforward and will only take a short amount of time. Once setup is complete the system will memorise the light positions so this process only needs to be carried out once. To set up the lights use the following steps and the example positions shown below. The diagram shows typical positions of installed lights for three scenarios. NOTE: In each installation, Position number 1 should be the furthest light forward on the Starboard side. At each stage note the number of each light in accordance with these schematics. Select Light setup Mode. Make sure all lights have power before star ng the discovery. Press the select bu on to start the discovery process. The controller will detect how many lights are connected and then display the result on the screen. 4

5 Step 4 Step 1 The number of lights detected by the controller will be shown once the discovery is complete. Check that the number of lights detected matches the number of lights installed. Press the select bu on to con nue The ﬁrst light detected will then start to ﬂash a color sequence of Blue, Green, Red. Note: The posi on of the light is not yet assigned so it may be at any installa on point on the vessel. Use the up / down bu ons to adjust the posi on of the light to the desired number. Use the right bu on to move to the next light. Step 6 Step The next light will start to ﬂash a color sequence of Blue, Green and Red Use the up / down arrow to change the light posi on of this light to match its posi on on the vessel. Once each light has had a posi on allocated press the Select bu on to save the se ngs. Repeat these steps un l all lights have been assigned the correct posi on. Light Setup is now Complete! Controller Sequence

The speed of the color cycle can be selected Sweep - Select color changing light chases around the boat Favourites - Customise and save your favorite colors Strobe - Make the lights flash in any color. Change the speed of the strobe - make it a regular, or random pattern WiFi - Connect your ios device and control your lights (see WiFi Set-up section) Ext DMX - Control your lights from a third party DMX controller STL - Sound to light - connect your music device to the controller using the stereo jack input, and the music will control the lights. Press and hold the select button to change the color of the frequency band, and background light. Options - Access the light set-up facility, adjust the overall brightness of your lights, set up the WiFi network name and password and alter the screen settings WiFi Set Up To download the app, visit the App store, and search. Download for free, and enjoy controlling your lights from your ios smart device. Step 1 Step 2 Make a note of the SSID name and password KEY in the WIFI setup Mode in setup. The default se ngs are: SSID: LUMISDMX Network Key: Note: The SSID is the network name that will appear on the WiFi list on your phone. We recommend that you change the SSID and Network key to improve the security of the system. Once the informa on has been recorded return to home page and select WIFI mode. The internal wiﬁ will be ac vated. Note: exi ng this mode will turn the Wiﬁ oﬀ again and the controller will not be found by the iphone. Step 3 Next, using your iphone search for local wiﬁ networks. Select the SSID name for the controller and enter the password. 7 Step 4 Step Tap the blue I symbol to show more se ngs Tap on DHCP IP address. The IP address, subnet mask and router se ngs should be as shown above. Ensure that the DNS se ng is the same as the Router se ng. Once complete tap the wiﬁ icon at the top left of the screen. Step 6 Launch the App on your phone to wirelessly control your lights Note: The iphone can take up to 60 seconds to connect with the EOS controller at which me the Wi-Fi signal strength icon will be shown in the top le hand corner of the display. Note: This procedure is for ios 8 and above iphone Pairing is now complete! Lumi-Link Bridge Connections Lumi-Link is the worlds first marine lighting API (Application Programming Interface), allowing plug and play integration of underwater lighting system with certified Multi-Function Displays (MFDs) creating a centralized control platform for the entire vessel reducing helm clutter and simplifying vessel operation. The Lumi-Link bridge connects to the controller using the pin Lumi-Link connector, and to your certified MFD. Once installed you will be able to control your lights from your MFD, or ios connected device. See the Lumi-Link bridge user instructions for fa full guide on how to install. Misuse, abuse, improper installation, neglect, improper shipping, damage caused by disasters such as fire, flood, and lightning, installation by unqualified personnel, unauthorized repair or modification will void this warranty.
