2 What is gender pay gap reporting? NEX Services Limited, our UK entity which employs more than 250 employees in the UK, is required to publish annual gender pay gap statistics. The gender pay gap information compares: > the percentage gap between mean and median hourly pay of men and women in the business at a single point in time (currently 5th April 2017); > the percentage gap between mean and median bonus pay of men and women, based on bonuses paid in the 12 months to 5th April 2017 > the percentage of men and women who received a bonus; and > the split of men and women s pay in each pay quartile, determined by ranking all employees hourly pay, from lowest to highest, in four equal quartiles. 4 Understanding our gender pay gap Pay Gap NEX Services Limited mean gender pay gap is 25% compared to the UK mean gender pay gap of 17.4%, with the median pay gap being 31% compared to the UK median pay gap of 18.4% (based on 2017 ONS data). This is reflective of the gender profile within the organisation as the company has a higher proportion of male vs female employees. Furthermore, in common with other financial and technology institutions, we have a higher proportion of men in more senior roles and a higher proportion of women in more junior roles. NEX also has its global headquarters in London where most members of our global executive group are based. Bonus Gap NEX Services Limited mean gender bonus gap is 52% with the median bonus gap being 41%. However, the proportion of females receiving a bonus is higher than the proportion of males. As with our gender pay gap, the gender bonus gap reflects our organisation s demographics. Understanding the impact of age on the data We reviewed the captured population by age split in each band up to age 60, our mean gender pay gap is 14% or below. However, aged 60 and above, the mean gender pay gap is 84.5%. Notably, in the age band, we have a 5.7% negative pay gap and this reflects the changing demographic of our workforce and the results of initiatives to attract and retain female employees.
