5 VIENNA Our passion for music derives from the ambience of our town Vienna the concerts, the marvellous sound of the Goldener Musikvereinssaal, the jazz clubs, the dance clubs. There is no other city for music quite like Vienna, either in the history of the development of western music or in the ongoing dynamic of live art music performance. Music is the culture of the city, permeating every aspect of life. Musicians from around the world flock to Vienna excited by the honor to be able to play in the celebrated concert halls of this city of music. Similarly, the Haydn Grand s deceptively simple driver complement of a 6 X3P mid-bass driver and refined 1 triple stacked neodymium magnet silk-dome tweeter centers around the groundbreaking airflow control wedge bass reflex port (also found on the Bach Grand) that serves to virtually eliminate port noise, allows for increased placement flexibility, and provides an extraordinarily compact driver configuration by positioning the tweeter on the front of the wedge. 21 MAESTRO GRAND At the heart of theater is the human voice. Our ears are most attuned to catch every subtle nuance of this expressive instrument. Being the hardest working speaker in a surround system, the quality level of a center channel is of major importance to a system. 23 THEATRO Our center channel Theatro was designed to reproduce voice perfectly, featuring two mid-woofers with lightweight, transparent XPP cones emphasizing speed and delicacy, allowing nuance and intimacy to develop. Together with the dual front bass-reflex ports, this configuration provides an increase in dynamic capabilities necessitated by the demands of more sophisticated theater systems in larger settings. We complement these drivers with our silk dome tweeter to achieve Theatro s flawless, natural sound, which is complete in every detail. These capabilities, coupled with Theatro s elegantly slender cabinet, allow this speaker to be used in virtually any system for exemplary results. 26 DESIGNER S WORK Peter Gansterer formed Vienna Acoustics in Peter is a passionate devotee of music and its reproduction, who came of age in Vienna, Austria, where he studied acoustical engineering. Through his studies of the great concert halls of Vienna, Peter came to understand the dynamics of live music and, in a unique case of reverse engineering, develops loudspeaker designs that uncannily reproduce that experience.
