When I ordered I had my 7 year old daughter in mind since she is a minecraft geek. I decided to read it first just out of curiosity and I was amazed how well written it is, it brings you into the mincraft world and I no longer will be judgmental of my daughters game. I know understand why she likes it so much, you can have a whole virtual world in it and the creativity of this author shows that through the shepherd's diary! Easy read she was able to read the whole book by herself after I was done and asked me when is the second one will be out. Great read!

As far as illustrations (screen shots?) go, there are, sadly, only a few included. I'd recommend this book to MC fans as young as 8yo. This book is a page turner. The author really immerses you in the minecraft world and you feel like you are right there with Al. An excellent read for or to any minecraft fan. I will be grabbing the next book soon. Great content for the price. Very cute book!! I read this before sharing it with my two boys (both are HUGE Minecraft fans). I know they will love it too when they read it. It's a great book for younger kids. The story starts with "Al" who is a villager shepherd that wants to be a hero for his village. Reading through his day to day happenings was very cute. I'm not sure what book Corinna read below me as she doesn't have a verified purchase of this book and is most likely a jealous competitor because it is a brand new account as well, but this is by far the highest quality Minecraft diary I have read yet. I buy Minecraft books for my nephew to read because that is basically the only subject he will voluntarily read. I typically skim it to make sure everything is kosher for my nephew, but it was so good I can genuinely say I thoroughly read and enjoyed it. With around 70 pages, I definitely feel like I have gotten my money's worth. Something I don't always get with some of the other a Minecraft books out there. I can't wait for the next book and I'm sure my nephew will feel the same way.

4 I got the opportunity to purchase this e-book at a discounted rate in exchange for my honest opinion. I don't know a lot about minecraft, but I thought this book was really great. It was an excellent story of a boy following his dream and then at the end he realizes his dream isn't what he thought it was at all. There were many parts of this book that made me laugh out loud. This is not just a book for a minecraft fan or a grade schooler, I am an adult and I truly enjoyed it.
