2 about the company ABOUT THE COMPANY Des Moines Stamp Manufacturing Company was established in 1880 and is one of the oldest companies in Des Moines and one of the oldest companies in the stamp industry. The same family has operated the company since Originally, rubber stamps and brass stencils were the main products sold. Remarkably, more than a century later the same products are still being manufactured. The product line has expanded over the generations to include Perma Stamp pre-inked stamps, engraved signage, notary and corporate seals, mechanical dating and numbering devices, photosensitive aluminum signs and plaques. Manufacturing is performed in a nearly 20,000 square foot facility by dedicated employees with years of experience using state of the art computerized equipment. Des Moines Stamp is the largest manufacturer of Perma Stamp pre-inked stamps in the United States and has sales representation in 17 states. 4 Rubber stamp daters RUBBER STAMP DATERS Our rubber stamp band stamps have nickel plated bases and six years of long lasting natural rubber date bands. Grooved turning dials make date changing quick and easy. 5 Rubber stamp daters RUBBER STAMP DATERS STYLE T DATER This is our highest quality dater used with an ink pad. It is durable and features type band dates that are deep molded and stay centered when stamping. Length of die / / ROTARY DATER This dater has a long handle that is easy to grasp and dates that are changed by turning a dial. The month and year slugs are furnished and inserted in a slot on the printing surface. The die area is 1/2 long. TAX DEPOSIT DATER This dater is used with estimated income tax payments. CLEVELAND DATER This dater is used primarily in banks for bond redemptions. Also available in a double dater showing two sets of dates and dies, side by side. 8 Self inking daters SELF INKING DATERS All self inking stamps re-ink automatically by a built in ink pad in the frame of the product. The built in ink pad is re-inkable or replaceable and is available in black, red, blue and green ink. There are six years of dates on each dater. 11 Electric stamps ELECTRIC STAMPS These heavy duty machines have sensitive electric triggers that activate the stamp instantly when paper is inserted. They print clearly through multiple copies. Die plates may be added to print messages above and/or below the date, time or numbers. ELECTRIC NUMBERING MACHINE These machines have six number wheels that automatically advance after each impression. ELECTRIC DATING MACHINE The month, date and year print automatically. The date wheel is easily set and has 10 years. Six number wheels can be added in front of the date to make a numbering/dating device. ELECTRIC DATE/TIME MACHINE These machines print the date and time to the minute. Six number wheels can be added in front of the date to make a date, time and numbering machine. Automatic Numbering Machines AUTOMATIC NUMBERING MACHINES These heavy duty, high quality self inking numbering machines have six metal wheels that are adjustable for 5 different movements: consecutive, duplicate, triplicate, quadruplicate and repeat. Machines with up to 16 wheels of numbers and letters are available. They have built in ink pads that are re-inkable or replaceable. Repair service is available. 12 Ink INK We have inks for every application. Ink is available in 4, 8, 16 and 32 ounce bottles or by the gallon. RUBBER STAMP INK For use with rubber stamps on porous surfaces. Available in black, red, purple, blue and green. Do not use rubber stamp ink with numbering machines or other metal wheel marking devices. MARK II INK This is a very fast drying ink used on non-porous surfaces. Used in a Mark II pad. See Mark II pad for more information. OPAQUE INK This is heavy fast drying ink for non-absorbent surfaces. Used on a dry cloth ink pad. Available in black and white. INDELIBLE INK This black ink is used for stamping fabric. It will not wash out or fade with dry cleaning. INVISIBLE INK This ink only reveals itself when used under a black light. NUMBERING MACHINE INK This is an oil based ink made for numbering machines and other metal wheel marking devices. Available in two ounce bottles in black, red, purple, green and blue ink. Do not use this ink with any kind of rubber stamp or dater. Steel stamps STEEL STAMPS Steel stamps are used manually with a hammer or inserted in a stamping press. Works great on wood, leather, metal and other hard surfaces when a permanent mark is required. Available in custom made stamps or stock letters and numbers. 12

13 Ribbed rubber type RIBBED RUBBER TYPE Ribbed rubber type is individual, interchangeable pieces of rubber type used to make and change rubber stamps in minutes. Ideal for stamps (or parts of stamps) that change copy often. The backing on the type and the type holder both have ribbed grooves that interlock with finger pressure to hold the type in place. Number sets contain 4 of each number (0-9). SO11 and SO13 contain letters, numbers, a holder and an ink pad. The SO11 holder is 1 1/4 x 3 1/4 and the SO13 holder is 1 3/4 x 3 3/4. All ribbed rubber type kits contain multiple identical characters in each kit. The more common letters, such as A, contain five A s and the least common letters, such a Z, contain two Z s. Ribbed rubber type is also available with any custom wording you choose. 13

14 Engraved Embossing Seals ENGRAVED EMBOSSING SEALS Our deeply engraved seals and thermoplastic counter seals are durable and can last a lifetime. POCKET NOTARY SEALS This compact seal makes a sharp impression every time and comes with a leatherette carrying case. CORPORATE DESK SEALS This larger seal has rubber feet to protect desks from scratches. The example is size 1, the size 2 is used for large amounts of lettering and has a 2 diameter. They are also available in a cast iron frame for extra heavy duty embossing. STATIONERY EMBOSSER Customize envelopes and letterheads with your name and address. Available with up to 3 lines of engraving. SPECIAL SEALS We custom make seals with letters or customer furnished artwork. LEAD SEALS AND PRESSES This is used to press lead seals on wires to prevent tampering of cases and crates. 14

15 Stencils STENCILS Our skilled personnel and computerized engraving machines produce quality, time saving stencils. MYLAR STENCILS Mylar is a flexible, durable plastic and is used for most applications. Great for flat or curved surfaces. BRASS STENCILS Brass is used only for extra heavy duty stenciling on flat surfaces. ADJUSTABLE BRASS STENCILS These are separate interlocking brass stencil letters and numbers. They are great for stencils that change copy frequently. Available in 1/2 to 6 characters. STENCIL INK Available in spray cans or containers and used with brushes, rollers or felt tip fountain markers. Available in quarts and gallons for porous or non-porous surfaces. FOUNTAIN ROLLERS Stencil ink is poured in the handle and released to the roller with a push of a button. FOUNTAIN BRUSHES Stencil ink is painted on the stencil with a brush containing a reservoir of stencil ink. FELT TIP MARKERS This marker works like a pen for stenciling applications. 15

Our state of the art computerized engraving computers guarantee an attractive finished product. The engraving material is durable and the colors are vibrant. NAMEPLATES We have a huge selection of colors, materials, letter styles and holders. There are numerous mounting options for desks, walls and partitions. SIGNS AND PLAQUES Again, a huge inventory of materials, colors and sizes. Our largest plate is 24 x 27. Plaques are mounted on solid walnut boards. NAME BADGES We have a variety of styles and materials. Attachment options are pins, clips, magnets and pocket holders. Logos can be reproduced on name badges. 16

17 Engraved Metal Signs ENGRAVED METAL SIGNS We have a variety of non-plastic materials that are designed for a variety of applications. METAL PHOTO This photosensitive aluminum is versatile and ideal for outdoor use as well as interior signage and plaques. The letters are impregnated in the material making them one of our most permanent materials. Photographs can be reproduced on this material. Available in gold, black or silver. ENGRAVED BRASS AND ALUMINUM We engrave in brass and aluminum then fill the letters with paint to make durable, attractive signs or recognition plaques. Recognition plaques are mounted on solid walnut plaque boards. ETCHED, BAKED ALUMINUM PLATES The lettering is etched into the material and finished with an epoxy protective cover. Great for inventory tags and other large run applications. BRONZE TABLETS Cast in solid bronze with raised letters. This is our most permanent and durable plaque. 17

18 Designer Sign System DESIGNER SIGN SYSTEM This is an attractive interior sign system in a variety of colors, sizes and attachments. We engrave the back of the plastic material then fill the letters with paint to give it a rich, modern appearance at an economical price. There are 10 stock frame sizes but signs can be made any size and installed without a frame.
