Designed and produced in Oporto - Portugal, BESSA recovers techniques of cra production to unique pieces and brings back the charm of ancient times, through a new interpretation. We value and bring to life the production techniques that have been forgotten through the years in an industrialized world. It is only possible to transmit passion because each BESSA's piece is shaped by several experienced cra smen who seize the challenge of turning the past into the present. From each of them, from their hands, their love and wisdom come the delicate details that make the perfection of each piece. TRADITION AND INNOVATION e pieces are built with traditional materials and inspired in the past which is familiar to us. Contemporary design recreates them by using the traditional techniques and knowledge together with the fantastic possibilities of modern redesign.

4 THE DESIGNER João Bessa is a creator who seeks the origins in all aspects of his daily life. Being passionate about the history of Design, João is inspired by Vintage & Classic and recreates the best of the past in his own way. He combines his very own style with Art and Design, creating exclusive furniture pieces of pure beauty. João was born in Braga and studied management, but soon realized that his passion was in the creation of art and design pieces. Attracted by the multicultural environment and the unique architecture of the city, João moved to Oporto city where he earned a degree in Product Design. A er working with several international recognized brands in the world of Design, João Bessa decided to make his passion a way of living. It was then that he decided to create his own design brand. In 2014, BESSA was born to make the world aware of the exclusive products made in Portugal. BESSA s pieces tell a story. I inspire myself in events, people, stories and iconic pieces of the past. Everything that is familiar and that marked me in one way or another. e empathy with the story that each piece perpetuates creates a bond with people. I am a very nostalgic person. The Grandfather floor clock is a creation that combines this classic beauty with a contemporary and irreverent visual that ennobles any environment. Because this piece combines feelings and memories shared throughout the world, the Grandfather floor clock was designed with five clocks representing five great capitals of fashion and design. Perfect worlds full of dreams where we live such special realities. As children, we imagined and felt things our way: beautiful, comfortable, ful lling and challenging. is mirror visually summons the nostalgia of such distant world to which we are bound by feelings of belonging that remain alive and very dear. As we look at ourselves in the Imaginarium mirror, we remember old adventures and let ourselves into new and passionate realities. e Imaginarium mirror is a piece of art with a strong visual impact. It astonishes by the re ections and distortions that surround us and seduces by the luxurious frame in carved wood, delimiting the contemporary space of the piece. is conjugation, contrasting in itself, becomes perfect. is is a mirror that summons a unique look, making the piece even more unique. One hundred percent hand-worked with noble materials, the Monroe Lamp is another piece that expresses a familiar story, bringing passionate memories. Materials: Solid brass, fabric. The Aurum table recreates the fascination that gold has in our lives. This piece recreates gross pure stones taken without any processing. The gold stones are inside a "showcase" that protects this precious asset. However, we are somehow provoked by this piece, when it allows part of the gold to cross the glass and be within our reach. Endowed with an elegant silhouette, it is in the baroque ower that adorns the top of these mirrors that we discover details of an imperial faust. e contemporary look does not erase the memories of other times brought by this baroque detail and the old nish of the glass. ey are 2 very versatile pieces that adapt to any type of environment.
