Biography Formed in 1955 within the structure of the Angeles Chapter of the Sierra Club, the Sierra Peaks Section promotes the exploration, protection and enjoyment of the Sierra Nevada. Recognition is proven in the form of emblems for members who have climbed designated peaks within the Sierras. Scope and Content Collection consists of material related to the organization and operation of the Sierra Peaks Section and the designation of emblem peaks.
