In 1958, Rachel Louise Carson began the four and a half year task of writing her IN- FAMOUS SUBVERSIVE book called Silent Spring. Carson wrote the book Silent Spring while she was stricken and dying with breast cancer, which was diagnosed in spring While writing the book, she underwent radical mastectomy in April 1960, as well as radiation treatment. Given her own terminal state of health, Carson decided to caution the public about the risks of introducing an enormous quantity of chemicals into the environment. In the minds of many observers, there is no doubt that Carson s illness tainted her views regarding chemicals, and their alleged effect on human health and the environment. It is a known fact that while a person is dying due to a disease, the human mind often attempts to link the reason for the disease with a specific event or blunder. Hence, the reason for Carson s wailing against the chemical industry! She was quite literally writing her book while WRITHING IN THE DEATH THROES OF HER CANCER. She died on April 14 th, Carson s INFAMOUS SUBVERSIVE book Silent Spring issued grave warnings about pest control products, and predicted the massive destruction of the planet s fragile ecosystems unless more was done to stop what was referred to as the «rain of chemicals». According to Carson s allegations in Silent Spring, pest control products were poisoning both wildlife and the environment, and were also endangering human health. With the passage of time, it has become clear that Silent Spring was severely FLAWED. Most of the allegations in Silent Spring were ultimately shown to be SCIENTIFICALLY IN- ACCURATE. Some observers maintain that Silent Spring was approximately two thirds INCORRECT, and hence only one third correct. Rachel Carson s facts and predictions were ALMOST ALWAYS WRONG!
