MAINS SUPPLY w2 IEEE regulations designated a drive as a special location which must be protected by a RCCB. The supply should be fused at no less than 6A and supply rated appropriately. Electrical work is notifiable under P part of building regulations.. MOTORS w3 Frog motors require capacitor in the control box. M1 capacitor fits to the black wires, M2 capacitor to the red. See note r5 for setting Frog direction. PHOTOCELLS w4 DIR photocells have plug on screw terminals. The receiver (Rx) needs a 4 core. The transmitter needs a 2 core. Set the voltage jumper to 24V. Range is 10m when the Rx & Tx face each other within 5 degrees. BOARD SETTINGS w5 Leave switch 1 off. Switch 2 is on for automatic closure. To close the gate by radio transmitter only, set switch 2 to off. This disables the auto-close. RADIO CONTROLS w6 Hang a single core wire 346mm long from the terminal. If radio range is poor, a tuned antenna can be fitted. Plug the radio head onto the plug (9). See c1 to set transmitters. Tech support line:
3 WIRING - Intercom panel & intercom handset CALL PANEL w8 This short runs through the pier. It may also run through the drive duct if the call panel s on the opposite side to the control panel. Handset w7 normally returns to the control box but it could run direct to the house. Intercom W8 Handset W ~/+ ~/- C1 NO1 NC1 C2 NO2 NC2 SW2 SW v AC/DC VX 800N-2L 2 ~ ~ 1 ~ ~ X P2 P1 C Art VIDEX KEYPAD FUNCTION The codelock has two relay outputs. Each relay responds to its own pass code (from 3 to 6 digits). It will stay on for a programmable on period from 1-99 secs. If the on period is set to 00, the relay will latch on until reset. There is an exit button input for each relay that has the effect of tapping in the pass code. The wiring and programming on this sheet uses either code to open the gate. The intercom handset s button activates relay 1 for on period 1. APPLICATIONS Pass code 1 is intended to open the gate for the normal time. On period 1 would be set to 01 (1 second). If passcode 2 is programmed with the on period set to 00, the gate will open and stay open. It is cleared by reentering passcode 2 then press clear. Setting on period 2 to 60 secs will allow the gate to close after 60 secs. Extra long open periods are given to postmen on foot, dust carts etc. Relay 2 could be re-wired to operate a pedestrian gate, garage door, drive lighting etc. Call tech support for help. KEYPAD PROGRAMMING Art.3021 HANDSET(s) w7 We advise running the handset in one from the call panel to the handset. Cable connections are often lead to miswiring. Our ERD8443 is a suitable for indoor and outdoor runs up to 300m. An additional three handsets can wired in parallel to the first, however w7 may need to be uprated. A mastercode must be tapped in to set the codelock into programming mode. The factory default mastercode is The red LED lights when the codelock is in programme mode. You can leave a code or on period the same as before by pressing enter. To exit programming mode, press enter successively. - Tap in mastercode (normally ) - press enter - Tap in new mastercode (6 digit code) - press enter - Tap in passcode 1 (3-6 digit code) - press enter - Tap in on period 1 (00 to 99) - press enter - Tap in passcode 2 (3-6 digit code) - press enter - Tap in on period 2 (00 to 99) - press enter - Exit programming mode - press enter twice To operate the codelock, tap in the passcode then press enter. If the on period has been set to 00 (gate hold open mode) the relay will stay on when operated. To cancel the hold open, reenter the passcode then press the clear button instead of enter. The green light comes on when correct passcodes are entered. Successive incorrect passcode entering will cause a codelock to lock out for a penalty period. Tech support line:
4 WIRING - Intercom options A number of additional devices can be connected into the intercom system onto w7. They are connected in parallel to handset terminals 6,2,1,3,5,9 EM281 timer This 7 day digital timer has six programmes that can open the gate at various times during the week. Requires 230V supply Basic handset VN011 telephone interface This interface connects the intercom panel to all the house phones. Gates can also be opened from the phone. Fit the VN011 near the house master socket. Cut the old line going into the master socket and reconnect thru the interface. Terminal numbers are the same as the standard handsets. 3102m Hold open handset V 230V A maximum of three additional handsets can be connected. I o L+ L- RING TIP to house phones cut the old line and insert the interface master socket This handset has two buttons and a hold open switch. The codelock s second passcode, no longer required for hold open, could operate another gate or a garage.
