4 1. General Description 1.1 Product Description The equipment under test (EUT) is a remote touch screen, manufactured by Crestron Electronics, Inc. 5 Note: The EUT was tested for battery mode of operation only (ie, without powering the charging dock). 1.3 EUT Test Setup Justification The system was configured for testing in a representative user configuration for this EUT with nominal interface data activity and typical loading, in the battery mode of operation only. A loosely coupled wire was extended into the EMC chamber (via cutoff tube) to maintain the two radio links (WiFi and ZigBee). 1.4 EUT Exercise Software and Mode(s) of Operation Firmware revision: v Build: July (177044) Software revision: N/A Application program: N/A The EUT was programmed to show a pattern of scrolling H characters on its LCD display, driven by its firmware. Step-by-step Operating Instructions: Go to the Setup page by pressing the following sequence twice: POWER, HOME, MENU, GUIDE From the Setup menu, select WiFi Setup, then Select Access Point. Select the CEN-WAP-1500 (make note of its SSID prior to starting). Ensure that the Link indicator is green on the WiFi Setup page. Go back to main setup page. Select RF Setup, then Single Gateway Setup. Hit the Acquire button, then the Acquire button on the CEN-ERFGW-POE. The Acquired and GW Online indicators should turn on. Go back to main main setup page and select Diagnostics page. Then select RF Test and select Toggle LQI Test. The signal strength indicators for Rx signal at PANEL and GW should come on. Go back to main menu and hit Save & Exit. When the scrolling H pattern has started, place on dock (dock not powered). Note: WiFi and ER setup can be done outside the chamber next to the WiFi WAP and ER gateway. Page 5 of 21

For FCC Part 15 the upper testing limit is 40 GHz and for CISPR 22 the upper testing limit is 6 GHz. 7 2.0 Test Methodology Conducted and radiated emission measurements are performed according to the procedures in ANSI C63.4: 2003 and CISPR 22.{Update with appropriate standards if applicable} All measurements are performed in a semi-anechoic chamber. For each scan, the procedures for maximizing emissions are followed. All radiated measurements are performed at 3 meters distance between an antenna and the EUT, unless stated otherwise in this report. Product is placed on an 0.8cm high nonconductive table for radiated and conducted emissions. Arrangement of the product is shown below. Conducted Emissions Setup LEGEND: 1) Excess I/O cables shall be bundled in the center. If bundling is not possible, the cables shall be arranged in serpentine fashion. Bundling shall not exceed 40 cm in length. 2) Excess power cords shall be bundled in the center or shortened to appropriate length. 3) I/O cables that are not connected to a peripheral shall be bundled in the center. The end of the cable may be terminated, if required, using the correct terminating impedance. If bundling is not possible, the cable shall be arranged in serpentine fashion. Page 7 of 21

8 4) EUT and all cables shall be insulated, if required, from the ground plane by up to 12 mm of insulating Material. 5) EUT connected to one LISN. LISN can be placed on top of, or immediately beneath, the ground plane. 5.1) All other equipment powered from a second LISN or additional LISN(s). 5.2) Multiple outlet strip can be used for multiple power cords of non-eut equipment. Arrangement for radiated Emissions LEGEND: 1) Interconnecting cables that hang closer than 40 cm to the ground plane shall be folded back and forth in the center, forming a bundle 30 to 40 cm long. 2) I/O cables that are not connected to a peripheral shall be bundled in the center. The end of the cable may be terminated if required using the correct terminating impedance. The total length shall not exceed 1 m. 3) If LISNs are kept in the test setup for radiated emissions, it is preferred that they be installed under the ground plane with the receptacle flush with the ground plane. 4) Cables of hand-operated devices, such as keyboards, mice, etc., shall be placed as for normal use. 5) Non-EUT components of EUT system being tested. 6) Rear of EUT, including peripherals, shall all be aligned and flush with rear of tabletop. 7) No vertical conducting plane used. 8) Power cords drape to the floor and are routed over to receptacle. 9 2.1 Test Facility The 3-meter semi-anechoic chamber used to collect conducted and radiated emission data is located at 22 Link Drive, Rockleigh, New Jersey. This test facility has been placed on file with the FCC, Registration Number: , and Industry Canada, Site Number 5683C-1. The interior shield-to-shield dimensions of the chamber are 28 feet long by 20 feet wide by 20 feet high with an 18 inch raised floor. The test facility includes a shielded control room with interior shield-toshield dimensions of 16 feet long by 10 feet wide by 8 feet high. The RF shielded enclosures of the chamber and the control room consist of modular panels of galvanized steel with steel framing. There are seven power filters to supply power to the chamber and two power filters to supply power to the control room. Lighting consisting of six floodlight fixtures in the chamber and two in the control room are powered through a separate power filter. HVAC is provided by four honeycomb wave-guide air vents mounted in the chamber s ceiling, two in the control room. A 4 foot by 7 foot brass knife single leaf swing door is provided for the access of personnel and equipment to the chamber and 3 foot by 7 foot door to the control room. Interconnection cables between the chamber and the control room are through two 6 inch by 24 inch RF tunnels, one 1-1/2 inch pipe penetration, and one 4 inch pipe penetration. The RF shielded enclosures meet RF shielding effectiveness of 106 db at 10 GHz. The chamber is treated with hybrid absorbers to achieve the requirements of ANSI C63.4:2003 and CISPR :2008 at a 3 meter distance. Four side walls and the ceiling of the chamber are covered with ferrite tiles. Specula regions (the end wall behind the turntable, a 10 foot by 10 foot area of the ceiling, and a 10 foot by 10 foot area on each side wall) are covered with foam absorbers. Sixteen pieces of removable PS-600 hybrid absorbers (includes FT-1500 and PAA-600) on eight floor carts for immunity are stored inside the chamber, along walls, during emission and volumetric normalized site attenuation measurements. The turntable is a motor driven 2 meter diameter metal turntable. There are three sets of flush mount receptacles on the turntable to provide 120V, 230V, and 277V power to equipment under test. Interconnecting cables between the EUT and support equipment may be routed through the turntable s center opening. An antenna mast is used for moving antennas up and down and for changing antenna polarizations. A position controller located in the control room controls the rotation of the turntable and the height and polarization of the antenna. Controlling cables are through a fiber optic converter and ST couplers to the control room. The test volume of the 3 meter test range is a cylinder two meters in diameter. NSA measurement is in accordance with Section of ANSI C and Clause of CISPR Edition 2.1. Page 9 of 21

10 Conducted emissions are performed in the 3 meter chamber. A 2 meter by 2 meter vertical coupling plane is placed 40 centimeters behind the table that supports desktop equipment under test. LISNs are placed on top of the turntable (reference ground plane) and bonded to the turntable of the chamber. The EUT is connected to one LISN. All other equipment is powered from an additional LISN. Unused LISN measuring port connectors are terminated in 50 ohms. Each phase of the power line is measured separately. For radiated and line conducted emission measurements, a 1.5 meter long by 1 meter wide by 0.8 meter high table is placed on top of the turntable to support tabletop equipment. The table frame is made of 1-1/2 inch PVC pipes.
