Separate log files are required to be submitted. Rovers may not split logs. Home stations that also submit a Rover run may not split logs. CW, RTTY, and Digital contacts will all be scored as CW. Multipliers will be scanned from the total group and counted for CW. 8. ENTRY CATEGORY. For the CABRILLO 2.0 format log file Header item of "Category:" Use one of: SO, MS, MM, RS or RM as first part. Use one of: QRP, LP, or HP as second part. Use one of: MIXED, PH, or CW as last part. NOTE: The CABRILLO 2.0 log file header line for CATEGORY: might then be as the example below: CATEGORY: SO LP MIXED CATEGORY: RS LP CW 9. SCORING Stations may be worked once per band per mode for QSO Points. GA Rovers may be worked once per county, per mode, per band for QSO Points. Multiplier counting is per mode. See details below. 9.1 QSO Points: o Each complete Phone contact counts one point. o Each complete CW contact counts two points. o No cross mode contacts allowed. o No partial contact credit. o DX counts for QSO points only, there are no country multipliers. Log "DX" instead of State or Province. o Non DX Contacts. o For GA to GA QSOs, enter COUNTIES in the exchange You will get credit for GA state. o Each Canadian Province (13). 64 state/provinces X 2 Modes = 128 Multipliers possible. Rev Page 6 4/28/2016

7 o Georgia stations: Each USA state and DC, including Georgia (51). o Non Georgia stations: 159 (Georgia County) multipliers X 2 Modes = 318 Multipliers possible. o Georgia Rover stations, when they change county, may be worked as a new contact. o A Rover contact counts for multiplier credit if the QSO is new on that mode. 9.2 Multipliers. A multiplier may be counted once per mode. (Not per band) 9.3 Georgia Stations: Each USA State and DC, including Georgia (51) (For GA to GA QSOs, enter counties in the exchange, you will get credit for GA State) Each Canadian Province (13) DX contacts count for QSO points, but do not count for multipliers. (Enter DX in the exchange.) 64 State/Provinces x 2 Modes = 128 Multipliers possible. 9.4 Non-Georgia stations: 159 (county) multipliers x 2 modes = 318 Multipliers possible. Georgia Rover stations, when they change county, may be worked as a new contact. A Rover contact counts for points if the QSO is not duplicated on the same band and same mode. A Rover contact counts for multiplier credit if the QSO is new on that mode. 9.5 Final Score. Multiply total QSO points by total multipliers. 9.6 Invalid Contacts. Stations outside GA may not count contacts with "non GA" or with DX stations. 10. GQP LOG SUBMISSION 10.1 Received logs Will be listed on the Georgia QSO Party web site as soon as possible after receipt Entries Must be time stamp marked or postmarked no later than 0000Z, the 15th of May Cabrillo Format All electronic logs must be submitted in Cabrillo format. Rovers may submit a single consolidated Cabrillo file with a claimed score of the entire operation. A single Cabrillo file is the preferred entry for a Rover, and individual county files are not needed in this case. (Less files to handle). Rovers may also submit individual county Cabrillo files. Individual county files will be combined when received to make an overall file. TIP: Several popular logging programs allow changing the exchange in the same log. (Some do not allow change.) TIP: N3FJP QSOGA.EXE. This program has always had a valid Georgia QSO Cabrillo file creation capability. In the file menu select write submission file. Scott has graciously added the word Cabrillo to that menu choice. 11. 17 Common Log Errors..!! We receive more than 300 logs each year. About two thirds of them go right through the edit without a problem. The other third require a manual handling. If possible we will correct the errors and send the log back through the edit program. Listed here are some of the more common errors that we have to correct. 1. Out of State stations working an out of state station. Can only work a Georgia station. 2. Cabrillo HEADER format errors. Leaving out a minimum requirement and mixing Cabrillo 2.0 and 3.0 formats are the most frequent errors. GQP Cabrillo requirements can be found in the appendix. 3. Cabrillo QSO record errors. a. (The 10 elements are positional sensitive, separated by one or more spaces and are different for In and Out of state stations). b. In State stations showing GA as their location. Must be a Georgia County abbreviation. c. Showing DX for Canadian Provinces and Territories. d. Showing ARRL Section for Puerto Rico, Guam, etc. These are DX. e. Showing something other than DX for all other ARRL DX entities. f. All alpha fields contain a non alpha character. g. All numeric fields contain a non numeric character. 4. Date and Time of Day errors. We can handle the date as YYYY/MM/DD and MM/DD/YYYY but please don t mix the two formats. 5. Call Sign Errors. Call signs can contain alpha or number characters. No special characters such as a slash (/) are allowed. 6. Logs In Wrong Data Format. Cabrillo logs are all in.txt (text) data format. The most common error is sending a log in.rtf (Rich Text) format. All text files should end with a CR/LF. We have received files that have neither. 7. Logs Not In Cabrillo Format. We receive some.adi (ADIF) and.xls (Excel) files. If we have enough information to make a Cabrillo file we forward those to a volunteer who enters all of the information into a normal logging program in order to generate a valid Cabrillo format log. Lots of manual labor in this case. Otherwise we notify the sender that we are unable to process the log. 8. File Name for a Log Does Not Include the Station Call Sign. We need this to keep track of all logs and post online that the log was received. 9. More Than One File Received for the Same Station. Please don t ask us how to figure out how to combine multiple logs for the same station. This is a very labor intensive activity. Rev Page 17 4/28/2016
