1 DC-UPS 100 Module DC - UPS 100 BRIEF DESCRIPTION UPS - modules serve for the buffering of a voltage for a certain period. B The modules contain the following functional groups: Power Fail: At power failure a signal is given through an optocoupler (open collector) Deep discharge protection: If the voltage goes under a certain value, the battery will be separated from the electrical load. Reintercalation occurs if the input voltage exists again. Battery low: compendiously before the deep discharge protection switches, a signal is given about an optocoupler (open collector). Shut Down: The UPS can be switched off beyond an optocoupler. The re-start begins when the input voltage is o.k again. Triggering 10-28V. Auto Shut Down: At certain operating systems there is no shut down signal given. Here the auto shut down switches off the UPS independently after a time from up to 15 min. Load sensor: This sensor monitors the external power consumption and switches off the UPS while undercutting the opposed value at UPS operation. Acoustic signal: Additional to the LED advice an acoustic signal about a piezo can be given. Thereby occurs a sound in long distance with power fail and in short distance at battery low. Battery test: While the normal operation, the aditional battery will be controlled in regular intervals. When the battery is unloaded or defective then the announcement battery low is given. Battery loading unity: From the nominal input voltage the raised loading voltage is generated after the IU-identity line.

7 Interface description Operating system: LINUX 7.1 UPS Software: RUPS 2000 V Interface description: The UPS will be connected to the COM-interface via server. After starting the RUPS-2000 software there are following levels at the interface: RTS + 11V from server, herewith will be the internal pull - up resistors pulled the signals power fail (CTS) and battery low (CD) to a positive level. With advice power fail or battery low, will the common tension - 11 V of the wire TXD of the server from the UPS on the particular signal wire be connected through. The software USV RUPS2000 releases then a controlled shut down of the server. Disconnection occurs over the load sensor. Note: The red RUPS 2000 cable is not used with DC-module USV, because the resistors are integrated. 8 Technical notes Shut down barrier The first 2 minutes is the shut down and auto shut down blocked. Reboot function When the shut down or auto shut down is released, then the time of the timer shut down the UPS. This also happens, if in the meantime the supply voltage is restored. In this case switches the UPS after approx. 2 sec. automatically on again. Timer shut down The standard module has in the standard a 4.7kR resistor. ( timer shut down= 4sec.) The resistor is freely accessible from the outside, below the LED, and must be changed for bigger times.
