Rosenberger offers a comprehensive range of products including: calibration, verification and gauge kits, test cables, interchangeable port connector systems, open-short loads, sliding loads, attenuators and air lines. The precision connector range includes connector heads, cable connectors and adapters and are identified by the part number series RPC-N, RPC-TNC, RPC-7, RPC-SP, RPC-3.50, RPC-2.92, RPC-2.40, RPC-1.85 and RPC Rosenberger test and measurement products are widely used in communication, military, aerospace, industrial, and manufacturing applications and environments.

8 TEST & MEASUREMENT KITS Vector Network Analyzers (VNA) play an important role in RF and microwave circuit design, analysis, and testing. Calibration accuracy is paramount to VNA measurements and is dependent on the calibration methods and kit. Rosenberger provides several calibration kits to support various coaxial ports. Ports: N(DC-18GHz), 7mm, 3.5mm, 2.92mm(K), 2.4mm, 1.85mm(V), QMA, 7/16-DIN. Calibration Type: T Type Calibration, Industrial Version, LRL Version, TRL Version and Full Version. Additionally, Rosenberger provides verification kits, gauge kits and high performance cables to help ensure stable, reliable, and consistent measurements.

14 MICROWAVE CABLES Rosenberger offers a wide range of microwave cable assemblies. Notable characteristics include high phase-stability and a high number of mating cycles. Several cable types and connector interface options provide flexibility to support a number of industrial test & measurement applications. The standard portfolio of flexible microwave cable assemblies include pre-defined lengths and support applications up to 70 GHz. Customized assemblies and solutions are available upon request.

15 High-Performance Cables Rosenberger microwave cables are not only designed to minimize reflection and transmission loss but also to maximize phase and amplitude stability. Their special design, superior material and rigid manufacture processing make up the typical Rosenberger high-performance microwave cable: Center Contact Solid or stranded silver-plated copper wire. In comparison to equal size stranded center conductors, the solid center conductor has less RF resistance, lower attenuation, and better amplitude stability when bending. But the stranded center conductor has more flexibility and better phase stability under bending condition. Dielectric Low density PTFE has a dielectric constant ranging from 1.4 to 1.7 depending on the cable type. Most transmission loss is caused either directly or indirectly by the dielectric. In addition, the dielectric determines the velocity of transmission, temperature range, rated power, phase and amplitude stability and flexibility. Due to its low density and low thermal expansion coefficient, the Low density PTFE has excellent flexibility and phase stability. Inner Shield Silver-plated copper tape, helically wrapped with minimum 40% overlap between layers. The shield has outstanding flexibility and 100% coverage dielectric. Through strictly monitoring the precision wrapping process and carefully matching the elasticity of the dielectric to the properties of the silver-plated copper tape, uniform impedance and ideal contact between individual layers of the shield are maintained. Outer Shield Silver-plated copper wire, tightly braided over the inner shield. The braid plays a vital role to shielding effect, and also affects the weight as one of the main factors. Jacket Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP): features high temperature resistance and chemical inertness.

17 RTK-FLEX Series Cables RTK-Flex series cables from Rosenberger are an excellent cost-efficient choice for microwave signal transmission. With years of experience and detailed knowledge in manufacturing of cable assemblies, Rosenberger has designed RTK-Flex series to support applications up to 18GHz. Compared to similar products, RTK-Flex series cables are constructed by an improved solid PTFE dielectric wrapped underneath a precision wrap layer of metal Cu tape for a near ideal microwave shielding. The round wire braid and FEP outer jacket enhance better retention force and protection. RTK-Flex series cables not only feature high frequency compliance, but also achieve better shielding, stability, durability and lower cost. In addition, RTK-Flex series cables are compliant with standard stripping tools and semi-rigid cable connectors. 27 ADAPTERS Rosenberger provides a wide range of adapters with various ports: SMP, mini-smp, SMA, N(50Ω), N(75Ω), QMA, BNC, TNC, 7/16 and Coaxial waveguide. Adapters are offered in 4 series: standard, precision, calibration, and VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) proprietary interface. Standard adapters are normally applied in common industrial applications. Precision adapters have higher operating frequencies and better electrical performance compared to standard adapters. Calibration and VNA proprietary interface adapters are used in high-precision laboratory instruments and other highprecision applications.

56 Appendix 1: Cable Use and Maintenance Precautions Test cable assemblies are high precision components. Correct handling, routine inspection, and maintenance are very important to keep reliable electrical and machine performance. Use a lint-free cloth dipped in (99.5%) isopropanol to clean connector interface, but avoid wetting the dielectric of connectors. After that, use dry non-oil air or nitrogen to blow and clean it. Do not clean with a pick or similar tools, or blow with mouth or ordinary compressed air. When operating cables, avoid unnecessary bending to minimize the change of phase. If bending is required, ensure that the minimum bend radius is followed. The minimum bend radius is listed in production specifications. Use the possible minimum pressure and apply necessary protection. Even the smallest dent in the cable can affect performance. Do not pull cable assemblies to move test equipment. Prior to use, inspect the connector interface and check that it is clean. Use a precision depth guage to check dimensions. Screw the coupling nut of Plug side when connecting; do not screw using the Jack side. Use a calibrated torque wrench to apply the correct force to tighten the hex coupling nut. Typically, the average mating cycles of normal connectors are 500~1000 cycles. The minimum flexures of cables (without Armor) are 5000(limited to no bigger than minimum bend radius). In a laboratory environment, the lifespan could be 1~3 years. In production and testing environments, the lifespan will be shorter and dependent on frequency of use, environment and cable features. Armored Cable could extend the lifespan under certain conditions. Additionally, by monitoring electrical parameters over time, such as insertion loss, return loss, amplitude and phase stability, criterion can be set to allow replacement after a certain degree of change in these parameters.
