Its shallow profile and patented telescoping housing simplifies installation even in the most restricted places. Regulations restricting Lighting Power Densities (LPDs) vary from state to state and sometimes between municipalities., with its T5 platform, satisfies even the most restrictive LPD requirements. FITS INTO CROWDED PLENUMS Today s plenums are often filled with HVAC ductwork, conduit, telecommunications, alarm system wiring, and sprinkler system pipes. Recessed lighting can require up to 11 inches of unobstructed plenum space above the ceiling plane for installation. 4 A TUNED SYSTEM FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION ENERGY REGULATIONS ENERGY USE ENERGY USE National legislation changes effective 2013 require, at minimum, ASHRAE energy standards across the United States. The code lowers lighting watts per square foot (Lighting Power Density or LPD) allowances in non-residential buildings ASHRAE also mandates controls and daylight harvesting in a large number of spaces. PERFORATED METAL BASKET SURFACE MOUNT The perforated metal basket (PRF) option employs shielding similar to that of Columbia Lighting s popular Stratus series of recessed indirect luminaires. This option uses a microperforated steel basket lined with a surface relief, diffusing film to provide a soft radiance that dispels shadows and bathes the room with consistent, even illumination. Installation requires 3.5" between ceiling plane and plenum obstruction at one end of fixture. FLUSH CURVED BAFFLE The Flush Curved Baffle (FCB) provides a unique aesthetic at an affordable cost. Made of impactresistant, injection-molded acrylic, the baffle allows the lamp to shine directly down to the task, while providing lamp shielding at high angles. The result is a highly efficient shielding system. With its ultra-shallow depth, the surface mount is the perfect choice for those projects where there is no plenum space and low ceilings. It's also an excellent complement to the recessed and can lock in that spec where a mixture of recessed and surface mount fixtures are required.
