5 JFX Features The balance between quality and speed with the technology from the JFX series High quality by Mimaki s image quality control technology including MAPS2 and variable dot printing High productivity is accomplished by the new print head technology and high speed curable ink Able to print full-color and Clear ink in one job production High productivity printing of, fast and beautiful clear finish, productions with less dust attachments Easy operation, by an operator friendly new design Operation panel, Vacuum valve and Ink system are all located on the front side Most operations such as operating machine, switching vacuum ON/OFF, replacement of inks and setting of media can be done at the front of machine Layout pins are helpful for setting the media at the origin 5

10 Introduction of MCC MCC, Mimaki Clear Control MCC is the new function added to the JFX MCC enables to do full color printing and Clear printing at the same time Advantage1, Reducing the attachment of dust Previously, dust attached easily to the surface of materials during clear ink printing MCC reduces the risk that dust could attach Advantage2, Easier process In the past it was needed to divide the printing process into 2 stages: clear-printing and full color printing MCC enables to print these together in 1 go and reduces the production time 10

15 MAPS 2 (Mimaki Advanced Pass System) With MAPS2, both feeding stripes and color changes are reduced MAPS 2 eliminates banding by dispersing ink drops between the passes This technology is improving the print quality, when printing in high productivity modes and the uneven print density at solid color area s are reduced MAPS: ON MAPS: OFF (Normal) By printing in [AUTO] mode of MAPS2, the condition of MAPS2 is automatically selected for every print mode The print speed does not change by using MAPS2 15

17 Print on the thick and heavy media Printing on the substrate of up to 2 inches (50mm) thick The maximum loadable weight of substrate is up to 110lb (50kg/m²) Scan Direction Less than 2mm of head gap is recommended Media The thickness of media should be less than 50mm About the head gap The gap between the head and the substrate should be less than 2mm If the gap is set wider than 2mm, the ink drop tends to become mist before it reaches onto the substrate Furthermore, if the gap is to wide, the reflected light from the UV curing lamp increases. This leads to a cause of an error of the ink droplet onto the substrate or the nozzle clogging, because the reflected light may increase the viscosity of the ink mist 17

20 Reliable printing Automatic measurement of media thickness No need to measure the thickness by hand and reducing operator interactions The gap pin on the left side of the carriage automatically measures the thickness of media When needed, the head gap can also be set manually by steps of 0.1mm Media Jam Censor Preventing print heads from hitting the media When the media height is set incorrectly or the media is deformed, the sensor hits the media and the carriage stops to protect the print heads 20

39 The adjustment of LED_UV lamps alignment The alignment of UV lamps needs to be adjusted depending on the printing. Loosen the screw of the lamp and slide it to move the UV lamp for right and left of the carriage. Adjust the tip of the arrow to the scale marks Suitable timing for changing UV position The lamp position should be above setting when you prioritize the image quality, and the lamp position need to be changed. (The machine suspends before printing clear ink and the alarm will be shown in RasterLink.) If you cannot change the lamp position during the print, please set the lamp position at 0mm before printing. With RasterLink6, the following message dialog box may be displayed, then click the [OK] button is clicked 39
