Holland Day s seminal work, The Seven Words. Created in 1898, this groundbreaking piece features seven platinum prints in sequence housed within the original custom lacquered frame. The critical importance of this historic work as a landmark expression of performance art in photography is underscored by its presentation alongside celebrated examples of modern and contemporary art. Also featuring works by: Constantin Brancusi, Harry Callahan, F. Holland Day, Františk Drtikol, Jaromir Funke, Mishka Henner, Todd Hido, André Kertész, Heinrich Kuhn, Nathan Lyons, Lázló Moholy-Nagy, Paul Outerbridge, Man Ray, Alexander Rodchenko, Ed Ruscha, Cindy Sherman, Aaron Siskind, Keith Smith, Rosalind Fox Solomon, Brea Souders, Alfred Stieglitz, Penelope Umbrico, Edward Weston, and Michael Wolf. PRISM SECTOR, P9 Penelope Umbrico Range: of Masters of Photography, Ongoing The gallery is pleased to present Penelope Umbrico s series, Range: of Masters of Photography, 2012-ongoing, in the PRISM Sector in the Salon d Honneur of the Grand Palais. In this series, Umbrico has appropriated iconic images depicting mountains by many of the legends of the medium - Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Frederick Sommer, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Eikoh Hosoe, Daido Moriyama - to which she has applied dozens of smartphone camera application filters processing them hundreds of times before a final image is ultimately realized. 535 West 24th Street / New York, NY / West 20th Street, 3rd floor / New York, NY /
