DCRUST, Murthal ABSTRACT: In this paper, different sorts of images and the distinctive strategies for their compression have been discussed. Image Compression is the strategy of diminishing the image estimate without debasing the nature of image. Different sorts of images and diverse compression strategies are talked about here. Image Compression is the arrangement related with the capacity of extensive measure of data for computerized image. INTRODUCTION Image is a 2-D signal represented in digital form. Normally, the picture taken by the camera is in the analog form. However, process, transmit and sre, images are transformed in digital form. A digital image is fundamentally 2-D collection of pixels.[1] Basically, compressing an image and compressing digital data are two different procedures. Different types of images are used for various purposes such as remote sensing, bio medical purposes and video processing techniques[2]. Compression is accomplished by expelling repetitive or additional bits from the picture. Image quality and also the compression proportion relies on upon its system parameters epoch number, momentum constant, hidden layer nodes, and learning rate.[6] The Compression results given on hexagonal domain are much better as compared those on rectangular domain.[8] A. These are listed as below: i Peak Signal Noise ratio (PSNR) ii Mean square error (MSE) iii Compression Metrices PSNR can be defined as the measurement of the maximuminaccuracy between the compressed image and the original image. PSNR and the quality of the image are directly proportional, ie, if the value of PSNR is high, the image will be better. It can be used measure the prominence of reconstructed image. Before PSNR is calculated, initially MSE is figured. MSE is the collective variation amid the compressed image and original image. Small amount of MSE diminishes the error and improves image eminence. These formats normally uses lossless or lossy compression methods.andthe images produced are of smaller size like TIFF. PNG PNG (Portable Network Graphics) handles 8 bit, 24 bit, 48 bit true color. Lossless PNG format is best contrast with lossy JPEG. Typically PNG image file can be compressed 10%-30% more than in a GIF image format[3].the images of PNG Format have smaller size and have more colors as compared others. D. JPEG Another type of image is Joint Phographic Expert Group (JPEG) which is a lossy compression technique. It is used sre 24 bits phographic images. It is generally acknowledged in mixed media and imaging businesses. JPEG is 24 bit color format due which it have millions of colors and better look at than others. It is used for VGA (Video Graphics Array) display. E. JPEG2000 JPEG 2000 is a compression standard for lossless and lossy srage. The design of JPEG is enhanced by JPEG2000. JPEG 2000 and JPEG are almost same. F. Exif The Exif (Exchangable Image File Format) is like JFIF arrangement with TIFF expansion. It is utilized record and trade of pictures with picture metadata between the digital camera and edit and view softwares.

LOSSLESS COMPRESSION TECHNIQUES In this, the compressed image is entirely imitation of unique input image, there is no loss in the image. The image is first changed over the images in the image pixels. At that point handling is done on each image pixel.
