3 03 SHORT TERM FILMS VP3000 SERIES Short Term Digital Print Film This material is a three year monomeric calendered digital printing film, suitable for short-term sign and graphic applications on to flat surfaces. The range is available in white or transparent variants with gloss or matt finish and a grey or clear permanent or high tack adhesive. 4 05 02: HINTS SHORT AND TERM TIPS FILMS HINTS AND TIPS: DIGITAL PRINT FILMS Monomeric v s Polymeric Calendered films are categorised into two groups; monomeric and polymeric, determined by the type of plasticisers used during the manufacturing process. Suitable for most internal and short-term external applications, monomeric films are the least expensive. These films shrink after shorter periods of time, so are not appropriate for channels or recesses due to the strong memory but are ideal for flat surface applications with a 3-5 year durability. Added polymers in polymeric films reduce shrinkage making the film suitable for flat and slightly curved surfaces. The durability of polymeric films is 5-7 years. V-Flow? V-Flow is a bubble free adhesive containing a channelled liner to create non-visible air channels to make application even easier. Use firm squeegee strokes when applying the film, working towards an edge to channel any trapped air to an exit point. Storing Digital Print Film Vinyl needs to acclimatise, ideally for 3 hours at room temperature (20-23 C) before printing to allow optimum print quality. Dry warm conditions are a must for vinyl storage. Damp areas can create problems with paper liners, that can absorb moisture and cause cockling and print head strikes whilst printing. 5 07 INTERMEDIATE FILMS VP5000 SERIES Intermediate Digital Print Film This material is a five year polymeric calendered gloss or matt digital printing film, suitable for mid-term applications onto flat surfaces. It is available in white or transparent variants with gloss or matt finishes and a grey or clear permanent adhesive. A V-Flow air release adhesive is available for bubble free application along with a gloss high tack version for low energy surfaces. VP5000 Series is suitable for use as a print film and as an overlaminate. 6 09 OVERLAMINATES Monomeric Overlaminate A transparent, monomeric calendered film with a clear, permanent, pressure-sensitive adhesive. This film is suitable for use as a print film and overlaminate. It is recommended for use with any print film in the VP3000 Series range. For use on flat and slightly curved surfaces with three year durability. Graphic Preparation Sometimes after applying the application tape to an etch film it s difficult to see the graphic - a simple solution to overcome this is to take a crayon and make a rubbing on the application tape; which will show the edge of the graphic. Another handy tip picked up recently for intricate etch graphics is to first plot the artwork onto paper creating an outline of the graphic which you can then lie the vinyl over. Window Film Application Our top tip for speeding up application times when using VION Crystal is to apply the film using VION Right On Application Fluid (see page 18) rather than water as it dries much faster.

Designed for use on the inside surface of windows to reflect the sun s rays while allowing optical clarity to be maintained and rejects excess light to reduce glare. The film also blocks almost the entire amount of UVA and UVB rays which are the main cause of fading and skin damage. Car Wrap Cleaner lifts more dirt than conventional cleaning methods and suspends it on the film surface, which can then be removed with a sponge (also supplied.) WINDOW FILM POLISH (500ML) After applying the window film, the top layer can display stripes and matt areas from the squeegee. In time, the film can become scuffed or scratched by the seals and felt in window rebates. Apply Film Polish to provide a protective layer on window film.
