2 Thomas Trauth, founder and managing director of Thomas Trauth Design GmbH, is a world renowned eyewear designer from the Stuttgart area in Germany. After a formal design education in Darmstadt, Germany, he gained professional experience at major eyewear companies. He was the creative mind behind many eyewear brands like Marc O Polo, Ainger, S. T. Dupont, Mont Blanc and Ferrari and he was the head of the eyewear giant Metzler Optik Partner. Thomas Trauth s design philosophy follows his uncompromising attitude of putting aesthetics, ergonomics and simplicity above all design elements. He makes use of innovative technology and high-end quality to help achieve these goals and not as a means to show off. Dedicated to his profession and a natural talent when it comes to out-of-the-box thinking, he has travelled the world extensively and is committed to working with the unique characteristics and challenges of the international eyewear design business. 2 Thomas Trauth summarises his philosophy of work as follows: my claim is... to provide utmost quality going hand in hand with an ideal combination of design and function.
