This unique environment produces wool that is extremely heat-efficient and pleasant to the touch. Luxurious, durable and extremely rare, the wool and fur of the Andean alpaca are unrivaled by any other natural fiber. Thanks to its semi-hollow structure and short surface scales, alpaca fiber is extremely smooth and silky to touch and traps warmth very efficiently while being lightweight and dirt resistant. The fur collection features rugs, bedcovers, throws, cushions and teddy bears, and we can also make custom made products. Alpaca fur is an exclusive material with unique qualities. It is extremely soft, silky and warm, and will last for a very long time if looked after properly. Alpaca fur does not contain any lanolin, making all our alpaca rugs and other products naturally allergy-free. We specialize in custom made alpaca fur rugs, and we use special anti-slip backing and genuine leather bordering in all our fur rugs to make them more solid and durable. Slight variations and differences in the colors and shades of the rugs are a feature of the unique natural style, giving a natural and beautiful appearance to fur products, even when they have been dyed. When it comes to fur, there is no better way to judge the quality than to use your sense of touch, which is why we handpick only the finest furs directly from local communities. methods produce a vastly superior product. The raw materials are shipped to Europe, where we employ Nordic design and quality assurance principles to ensure the products respect the demand and needs, as well as the aesthetics and moral values, of our clients. The unique climatic and geographical factors that give alpaca wool and fur its most valued qualities also lead to its rarity. Alpaca fur is an unfortunate byproduct of the wool industry, and is impossible to mass produce, which is why we have so many singular products. Alpacas are simply too valuable to be killed for their fur, so we only use the pelts from animals that have died a natural death, meaning we are using a product that might otherwise have been wasted. As alpacas live for over 20 years, the loss of even a single animal represents a significant economic loss to the farmer. By using the fur, they are able to gain some small compensation for this loss, while we live our value of no wastage. Our tanning masters are all based in Peru, and come from the same local communities who produce the wool. The hides we use are tanned using methods perfected over hundreds of years, bolstered and underpinned by modern knowledge and quality control. There are two types of alpacas in the world: Huacaya which has dense, soft and crimpy fiber and Suri, which has more silky and longer fibers. Suri population in Peru makes up about 20% of the alpaca population of 3.5 million. YAKU Yaku means water in the South American Quechua language, so you can almost see the waves in the fur, resembling that of the surface of the water. Yaku is the longest and silkiest of alpaca furs. Yaku Collection includes custom made Rugs, Throws and Cushions. Yaku fur makes it feel like a gentle breeze is blowing under your footsteps when you step on the rug or when you slide your fingers through the fur. This is resulting from the feel of cushion of soft air inside the fur. Inti Collection includes custom made Rugs, Cushions and Throws - all made of fur from alpaca breed Huacaya who makes up about 80% of the alpaca population in Peru. INTI Only the softest and best quality furs are selected to make this collection and no alpacas are ever killed to get the alpaca fur materials. All alpacas have passed away in natural ways, due to the harsh and hostile climate conditions in the Peruvian Andes mountains. Inti means Sun in Quechua language, referring to the superiority and exclusivity of this royal material. As alpaca fiber grows thicker and thicker after every shearing, it results in a fur which holds more shape and feels softer underfoot when stepping on the rug. SAMI RUGS Sami collection products are all made of fur from alpaca breed Huacaya, who makes up about 80% of the alpaca population in Peru. Sami means strength in Quechua language, so the Sami fur is known to be very thick and solid, holding less air inside the fur but offering greater softness, durability and warmth.
